Sr Regulatory Compliance Analyst

This position ensures that the products we offer continually meet the statutory and regulatory requirements of each state in which we do business and serves as the liaison between American National and the state departments of insurance. 

What Will you do?: 

•  Analyzes product changes to determine the impact on underwriting guidelines, rules, and forms in cooperation with cross-functional development teams. 
•  Facilitates countrywide product rollouts by researching and modifying countrywide product changes to meet the regulatory requirements in each state and determining appropriate timelines to achieve company goals. 
•  Prepares state product filings for all rate, rule and form modifications in compliance with state requirements and submitting them to state insurance departments. 
•  Responds to compliance research requests from product managers, actuarial, underwriting, underwriting operations, marketing, finance, claims and legal to provide regulatory guidance on product development and analysis initiatives. 
•  Coordinates and implements product changes in cooperation with actuarial services, product management, underwriting operations, Corporate Technology Services, and marketing. 
•  Mentors other analysts and develops and implements client-friendly policyholder notices to communicate product and rate changes, as well as explanations of production errors and the steps taken to correct them. 
•  Reviews, researches and analyzes new and amended state laws, regulations, advisory opinions and bulletins for assigned states and lines of business. 
•  Develops communications to the home office and the agency field force explaining rate changes, product changes, new product offerings, and regulatory changes; and maintains complete and accurate project records in the department’s computer base. 
•  Assists state auditors, internal auditors and litigation in retrieving historical rates, rules, underwriting guidelines, policy forms or agent communications. 
•  Responds to inquiries from departments of insurance regarding filings submitted and coordinates with other divisions to provide thorough and accurate responses. 

QUALIFICATIONS: 
•  Bachelor’s degree in a related field, or equivalent work experience. 
•  Ten years of experience in property/casualty/life/annuity insurance or related industry experience; Life: LOMA 7-8 exams. 
•  Seven years of experience with insurance department filings. 
•  Four or more years of compliance experience with American National or equivalent experience in company operations.

Pay Range for this position is between $63,000.00 - $112,000.00
