Position Summary:
The Account Manager is responsible for growing AMMEX business within assigned major customer accounts in Industrial channels. Reporting to the Vice President of Business Development, this position is critical in driving customer engagement, retention, and profitable revenue growth across a portfolio of accounts. The Account Manager will manage a portfolio of major customer accounts and is responsible for retaining, growing, and expanding business opportunities within those relationships.
The ability to identify growth opportunities and understand the key components needed to achieve that growth is an important characteristic in this role. The successful candidate will leverage existing relationships and cultivate new relationships with business unit leaders to understand their unique company needs and influence their perspective of AMMEX value, solutions, and products.
In addition to developing and sustaining long-term customer relationships, this role ensures the best possible sales experience for customers. The individual must enjoy being analytical and continually searching the data for opportunities to drive value for customers by identifying opportunities, solving problems, offering creative solutions, and leveraging external and internal partnerships to move both organizations toward their goals. Our ideal candidate will reside in the West Coast or Midwest region.
Essential Job Functions:
This role will encompass the following, and additional activities asked by management to grow and strengthen the revenue stream for AMMEX:
- Align AMMEX customer priorities: Align and position AMMEX business offerings and value proposition with customer strategic and tactical business goals to create growth opportunities.
- Business Improvement: Identify business process improvement opportunities where AMMEX and the customer can drive mutual efficiencies that ultimately become opportunities to accelerate profitable growth.
- Customer Relationship Management: Work in partnership with cross functional colleagues to develop, improve, and sustain relationships with major customer accounts, ensuring AMMEX is recognized as a trusted business partner.
- Solution Selling and Education: Ensure that the value of AMMEX capabilities is clearly understood and effectively communicated to all appropriate customer stakeholders.
- Sales Growth: Ensure business opportunities are converted into orders and revenue to meet and exceed assigned revenue objectives across the customer portfolio.
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
- Strong ability to develop and sustain long-term customer relationships, preferably with an extensive network of connections from previous roles in similar businesses.
- Ability to articulate effectively, market/industry/customer intelligence & evolving needs back to the business leadership team at AMMEX.
- Compelling written/verbal communications, and presentation skills, duly aligned to senior management audiences.
- Proficient usage experience of CRM and sales metrics/KPIs to effectively collaborate with regional teams.
- Hands-on experience in using sales methodologies like Challenger Sales, Strategic Selling, Key Account Management, LAMP, Value-based-selling, or similar.
- Excellent win-win negotiator, preferably with formal negotiation training and experience of closing multi-year deals and agreements.
- Solid understanding and experience of order volume, revenue stream, and margin improvements.
- Ability to motivate and energize others; high-energy, go-getter, individual with exceptional project management skills & experience.
- Be an optimist, and a tenacious person at the same time; while applying experience, and a positive attitude consistently.
- Prioritize and focus efforts on best opportunities (short and long term) based on business needs.
- Strong acumen to follow through. Good Say/Do ratio. Acute sense of urgency, with equally important respect for colleagues, peers, and customers processes. Ability to deliver and succeed despite the usual and sometimes unusual hurdles. Ability to manage in occasional chaos.
- Ability to see ahead clearly; can anticipate future trends accurately; learn quickly and think independently to adapt as required.
Required Qualifications:
- 3-7 years of directly related experience in solution sales and/or B2B account management in Industrial Products, Personal Protective Equipment, or consumables.
- 3-7 years of sales experience selling to distribution companies at varying organizational levels, including directors, VPs, and executive stakeholders.
- Bachelor's Degree, preferred.
- Exceptional relationship skills with robust, commercial expertise and hands-on win-win negotiations experience is a must.
- Experience in selling to distribution clients.
- Cross-selling, solution-centric, value-based, consultative selling experience with exceptional collaboration and influencing skills across both, the clients and our own organization.
- Ability to handle multiple priorities and navigate in a highly matrixed environment.
- 3-7 years of sales experience selling to distribution companies at varying organizational levels, including directors, VPs, and executive stakeholders.
- Strong organizational and excellent interpersonal skills.
- Highly motivated with a mature, positive attitude and a passion for working with customers to drive outcomes.
- Requires fluency in English with strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Must be proficient in the Microsoft Office.

Physical Requirements:
- Able to physically travel via airplane to domestic and international locations as needed to support the business. This role will require some travel within the Region, (up to 50% travel should be expected).
- Requires sitting for extended periods of time at a computer, keying and reading content.
- Will be required to stand, reach, bend, twist, squat, and move about freely in an office environment.
- Able to use office equipment such as phone, copier, printer, video camera, etc.
Targeted Hiring Range: 100k-130k Base + Bonus Potential
Total Compensation: Commensurate with experience and internal equity
