A DAY IN THE LIFE:

We're seeking a highly experienced and strategic Director, Product Management - Risk Platform to lead the development and evolution of our risk decisioning product platform. This leader will be responsible for the foundational services and capabilities that power our risk decisioning engine, enabling our lending and account products to scale and innovate rapidly, balancing credit and fraud risk. This role offers a unique opportunity to drive significant impact by building robust, agnostic services leveraged orchestrated across all our products, with a strong focus on developing new, scalable API-based capabilities and leveraging Machine Learning (ML) and Artificial Intelligence (AI) to optimize key platform functionalities.

 

Team:  This person will manage a small team of product managers. 

Reporting: Reports to SVP of Product

Salary: $146,250 - $170,625

WHAT WE’LL TRUST YOU TO DELIVER:

  • Strategic Leadership: Define and champion the long-term vision, strategy, and roadmap for our risk product platform, aligning it with overall company and product objectives.  You will work very closely with the VP Product and the Product Management team responsible for building and managing the core products we sell to the market.
  • Platform Ownership & Development: Own the end-to-end product lifecycle of the orchestration platform of shared platform services, including fraud detection and risk mitigation solutions, income verification services and other third-party decisioning services. You'll drive the development of API-based services, such as advanced income verification and fraud detection capabilities, ensuring they are robust, scalable, and reusable across our product portfolio and potentially marketable as standalone products.
  • ML/AI Product Leadership: Lead the strategic direction and development of our Policy Optimizer product, leveraging ML and AI to enhance decision-making and performance across the platform. You'll identify opportunities for new ML/AI-driven features and capabilities that deliver significant business value.
  • Team Leadership & Development: Lead, mentor, and grow a team of talented Product Managers specializing in Data and Fraud, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Partner closely with engineering, architecture, data science, risk, legal, compliance, and other product teams to define requirements, prioritize initiatives, and ensure successful delivery of platform services.
  • Vendor Management: Manage key relationships with external vendors and third-party service providers, ensuring their offerings meet our evolving product needs and strategic goals.
  • Data-Driven Decision-Making: Utilize data, market research, and competitive analysis to inform product decisions, identify new opportunities, and measure the success of platform initiatives.
  • Communication: Clearly articulate the platform strategy, roadmap, and value proposition to executive leadership and cross-functional teams.

 

WHAT YOU LIKELY BRING TO THE TABLE:

  • 7+ years of progressive experience in Product Management, with at least 3+ years focused on SaaS platform products, APIs, and the development of common platform services. 
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business, or a related field; MBA or advanced degree a plus.
  • Demonstrated skills leveraging LLMs to accelerate and scale product management skill sets.
  • Strong technical and team leadership, with 3+ years of experience managing and developing a team of Product Managers. 
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • Industry knowledge in financial services, fraud detection, KYC/AML and managing an orchestrated platform of in-house and third party service providers; preferably with credit, lending, or other financial products.
  • Demonstrated experience with machine learning-based products, particularly in leveraging data science to optimize business processes or product features.
  • Proven track record of defining and launching successful, scalable platform products and leading completely product cycles from ideation to implementation.
  • Strong technical understanding with the ability to engage in technical discussions with engineering teams, particularly concerning API design, service-oriented architectures, and ML/AI model integration.
  • Demonstrated ability to balance strategic thinking with hands-on execution.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a focus on data-driven decision-making, working closely with or in a hands-on manner with data science and analytics teams.
