A DAY IN THE LIFE:

As the Head of Quality Engineering, Software Quality, you will lead the charge in ensuring the delivery of high-quality, market-leading SaaS products across multiple platforms. This role requires a hands-on leader who can code, particularly in Java, as you will contribute directly to building and enhancing our automation frameworks. Your day will involve leading a dynamic team of quality managers and engineers, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and driving the implementation of a scalable, automated quality assurance program. You’ll play a critical role in increasing release speed and enhancing software quality by coding and implementing test automation, performance testing, and improvements to the SDLC. This role requires a strong blend of technical skills, strategic thinking, and business acumen to deliver exceptional user experiences and help lenders deploy in weeks and scale in months.

Base Salary: $185,000 - $208,000

WHAT WE’LL TRUST YOU TO DELIVER:

  • Provide strategic and hands-on leadership in quality management, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
  • Code and contribute directly to designing and implementing scalable automated testing frameworks in Java to increase release speed and test coverage.
  • Create and execute a scalable SaaS-driven quality assurance strategy that aligns with business goals and product requirements, emphasizing automation, product functionality, and user experience.
  • Build and optimize automated quality assurance processes, integrating them into CI/CD pipelines to streamline testing and delivery.
  • Collaborate with product management and development teams to ensure seamless handoffs and alignment on quality objectives.
  • Set and track quality assurance metrics to provide clear visibility into performance, trends, and areas for improvement.
  • Plan and conduct performance testing, optimizing software for scalability and responsiveness while staying current with emerging technologies.
  • Manage defect tracking, ensuring prompt identification and resolution of issues with cross-functional team support.
  • Oversee capacity planning and ensure QA efforts remain on budget in terms of both time and personnel.
  • Identify and mitigate risks to product quality, addressing the specific challenges of our fintech SaaS platform.

WHAT YOU LIKELY BRING TO THE TABLE: 

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in quality engineering, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
  • Strong coding skills in Java, with proven experience in building or enhancing test automation frameworks.
  • Deep knowledge of SaaS and fintech, especially in account origination and decisioning, aligning quality engineering with market and client needs.
  • Expertise in software development, testing methodologies, and test automation tools, leveraging emerging technologies for efficiency and client delivery.
  • Proven team leadership, fostering accountability and commitment to deliver results, ensuring team members meet their promises.
  • Strong understanding of product functionality and user experience, aligning quality efforts with business goals.
  • Excellent communicator, capable of explaining complex concepts to non-technical stakeholders and leading effective discussions and decisions.
  • Skilled in iterative problem-solving, rapidly trying, failing, and succeeding to enhance quality practices.
  • Experienced in budgeting and resource management, optimizing costs, and preparing budget proposals.
  • Adaptable in a fast-paced startup environment, working with urgency to meet changing priorities.
