Sr. Manager, Logistics and Warehousing

Role Summary

The Logistics & Warehouse Manager is responsible for overseeing all warehouse, inventory, and logistics operations to ensure efficient material flow and reliable delivery of components and finished goods. This role manages daily warehouse activities, optimizes transportation and distribution processes, and maintains accurate inventory levels to support production and customer demand. The manager leads a high-performing team, implements systems and process improvements, ensures regulatory and safety compliance, and partners closely with cross-functional teams to support operational scalability and business growth. 

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute the warehouse and logistics strategy to ensure efficient receiving, storage, material handling, and distribution operations that support Ameresand’s production and customer delivery goals. Both for internal and external logistics. 

  • Manage day-to-day warehouse operations, including inventory control, order fulfillment, cycle counting, shipping/receiving workflows, and materials movement across internal facilities. Establish clear processes and standards that drive accuracy, safety, and productivity. 

  • Lead and mentor the warehouse and logistics team, ensuring staffing, training, performance management, and development plans to support operational demands and company growth. 

  • Optimize logistics and transportation performance by coordinating with carriers, freight forwarders, and internal teams to reduce total landed costs, improve delivery reliability, and ensure on-time shipments. Continuously review freight spend, routing, and service-level performance. 

  • Maintain accurate inventory levels through effective systems, planning models, and warehouse controls. Implement procedures that minimize stockouts, reduce excess inventory, and support production scheduling requirements. 

  • Monitor and report on material availability, inbound lead times, and warehouse capacity constraints to support proactive planning and ensure uninterrupted production. Collaborate with procurement and production teams to address shortages, delays, or quality issues. 

  • Ensure compliance with all logistics, safety, and regulatory requirements, including DOT, OSHA, hazardous materials handling, and required documentation for domestic and international shipments. 

  • Ensure adherence to international trade and regulatory requirements by governing tariff classifications, compliance processes, and documentation across all global operations. 

  • Improve warehouse layout, processes, and operational infrastructure to enhance throughput, material flow, storage efficiency, and visibility into inventory and shipment status. Evaluate and implement tools, WMS systems, and continuous improvement initiatives. 

  • Track, analyze, and improve key logistics and warehouse KPIs, such as inventory accuracy, picking efficiency, order cycle time, dock-to-stock time, safety metrics, and freight performance. Use data insights to guide decision-making and drive operational excellence. 

  • Partner cross-functionally with production, procurement, planning, and leadership teams to ensure warehouse and logistics operations align with broader business priorities, support forecasting needs, and enable scalable growth. 

Qualifications:  

  • Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, Engineering, logistics, business, or a related field.  A master's degree is preferred.  Someone with both domestic and international logistics experience.  

  • 8+ years in a mix of program management, supply chain and logistics / warehousing experience. 

  • Proven experience leading an internationally based logistics / warehousing organization focused on new technologies & manufacturing. 

  • Strong knowledge of international trade regulations and customs processes.  

  • Demonstrated ability to work and lead cross functionally by managing teams & projects. 

  • Exceptionally strong communication and negotiation skills that demonstrate an ability to communicate visually, verbally, and in writing.  

  • Ability to work well under pressure while simultaneously managing competing priorities, challenges, and risks.  Effective response to adapting to these competing priorities, risks, and program changes as needed and quickly.  

  • Willingness and ability to travel up to 10% including internationally 

Please note: This role requires working on-site 5 days a week. We do not offer hybrid or remote options.

Compensation will be determined based on experience, location, and other factors permitted by law.
