AMP is hiring an HR Business Partner on site in Portsmouth, Virginia.
As our HR Business Partner supporting our AMP One facilities, you will work to:
- Support plant leadership through tactical and strategic initiatives.
- Coordinate and conduct new hire onboarding and orientation programs to ensure a smooth transition for new employees.
- Assist employees with benefits related questions and enrollment.
- Work closely with AMP’s People team to roll out and support initiatives
- Work closely with management and employees to improve work relationships, build morale, and increase productivity.
- Act as a point of contact for employee questions and concerns regarding policies, benefits, and other HR matters.
- Partner with payroll team to support pay inquiries
- Support performance management processes including performance reviews, compensation, coaching, disciplinary actions, and terminations.
- Conduct and support investigations into employee complaints or disputes.
- Identify training needs for staff and management and participate in the development, delivery, evaluation and monitoring of training programs to ensure effectiveness.
- Analyze trends and metrics in partnership with the People team leadership to develop solutions, programs, and policies.
- Coordinates with health and safety team on workplace injury prevention, workers compensation, training and records management
- Maintain in-depth knowledge of legal requirements related to day-to-day management of salaried and hourly employees, reducing legal risks and ensuring regulatory compliance. =
The successful candidate will have:
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organizational skills and sound professional judgment, with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage sensitive and confidential matters with professionalism and discretion.
- Proficient with Google Suite, HRIS software preferred.
Experience:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in Human Resources working with an hourly population and directly supporting the leadership of employees.
- Strong experience in employee relations
- HR credentials such as SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP), or Professional of Human Resources (PHR) is preferred.
Education:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- This position has no direct supervisory responsibilities.
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
Working Location(s):
- Full Time On Site in Portsmouth, Virginia
Travel Requirements:
- Up to 30% travel
