  • Establish coverage expectations across manual, automation, API, database, integration, performance, resilience, and end-to-end testing.
  • Lead requirements, architecture, design, and release-quality reviews.
  • Provide evidence-based release recommendations and communicate residual risks to technical and business stakeholders.

Automation and Technical Engineering

  • Define and govern Playwright automation architecture using JavaScript or TypeScript.
  • Establish reusable framework standards, coding practices, review expectations, and reporting capabilities.
  • Define CI/CD quality gates for pull requests, deployments, regression runs, and releases.
  • Improve automation stability, maintainability, execution efficiency, and coverage across teams.

Performance and Non-Functional Testing

  • Define the strategy for load, stress, spike, endurance, scalability, capacity, and resilience testing.
  • Establish realistic workload models and measurable performance thresholds.
  • Guide the use of JMeter, k6, Gatling, Locust, or equivalent tools.
  • Partner with Engineering, DevOps, Architecture, and Database teams to identify bottlenecks and capacity risks.

Quality Improvement and Leadership

  • Lead root-cause analysis for production defects, recurring quality issues, and automation instability.
  • Monitor defect leakage, automation effectiveness, performance trends, and release confidence.
  • Establish responsible AI-assisted testing practices and validation approaches for AI-enabled features.
  • Mentor Quality Engineers, lead technical reviews, and promote consistent testing practices across teams.
  • Represent Quality Engineering in architecture, design-governance, and release forums.

SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent experience.
  • Typically, 8–11 years of progressive Quality Engineering experience, including technical leadership.
  • Expert knowledge of manual, exploratory, API, database, integration, regression, and end-to-end testing.
  • Expert hands-on experience with Playwright and JavaScript or TypeScript.
  • Proven experience defining and scaling automation frameworks across teams.
  • Strong experience with REST APIs, SQL, distributed systems, Git, CI/CD, and automated quality gates.
  • Hands-on experience with load and performance-testing tools and workload modeling.
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms, containers, observability, and application monitoring.
  • Strong understanding of Agile, Scrum, defect leakage, RCA, release governance, and quality metrics.
  • Experience defining AI-assisted testing practices and testing AI-enabled capabilities.
  • Strong technical leadership, mentoring, stakeholder influence, and decision-making skills.
