We’re seeking a polished, high‑judgment Executive Assistant to support our CEO and, secondarily, members of our Executive Leadership Team. This role is perfect for someone who enjoys working autonomously, takes pride in excellence, and brings calm, clarity, and precision to every project and interaction.

*This is an in-office role 5 days per week in Emeryville, CA. 

Responsibilities:

  • Proactively manage the CEO’s complex scheduling, heavy calendar, and anticipate the executive’s daily needs, always ensuring accuracy and organization.
  • Manage complex domestic and international travel, balancing efficiency, cost, and executive preferences while maintaining a keen awareness of time zones and global complexities.
  • Plan and coordinate quarterly board meetings, including managing all logistics from agenda preparation and catering to inviting attendees with flawless execution.
  • Support leadership meetings, company town halls and offsites, and ELT-level events.
  • Process expenses and manage reimbursements in a timely manner.
  • Act as a forward-thinking problem solver who takes initiative with minimal direction. You will anticipate upcoming needs and ensure a smooth and efficient workflow helping the executive stay ahead of their schedule and commitments.
  • Assist the CEO with additional tasks including calendar management, scheduling, and travel coordination.
  • Manage and support the Kitchen Coordinator, ensuring seamless operations.
  • Oversee day-to-day office operations, including supply management, guest hospitality, and providing support to onsite employees.
  • Assist in planning office team-building events. 

Basic Qualifications:

  • BA/BS degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 5+ years of experience supporting senior executives in an Executive Assistant and office management capacity.
  • Experience with Concur Travel and expense management web interface.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Proven ability to handle sensitive information with discretion, diplomacy, and sound judgment. 
  • Highly tech-savvy, with proficiency in MS Office Suite (PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, Teams), Confluence, and emerging AI tools.
  • Exceptional organizational and time-management skills with a strong attention to detail.
  • Proactive, self-directed, and solutions-oriented with a strong sense of ownership and follow-through. 

Physical Qualifications:

  • Ability to sit or stand at a desk for extended periods while working on a computer.
  • Ability to lift up to 20 pounds occasionally (e.g., moving office supplies, catering materials, meeting materials).
  • Ability to walk around the office to support operations and assist with events.
  • Ability to bend or reach to access files, supplies, or stocked items.

The salary range for this role is: $129,000 to $162,000.

Amyris is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. Salary offers are made based on internal equity and market analysis, and will vary based on the candidate’s skills, depth of experience and specific work location.
