About Financial and Budget Roles at ANSER
As a Financial or Budget Analyst or Manager at ANSER, you’ll support programs that directly impact national defense and security. You’ll help clients plan, allocate, and execute resources efficiently—ensuring alignment with strategic priorities and compliance with federal regulations. Your work will often support senior leaders in making data-driven financial decisions within a secure, classified environment.
Most roles are on-site in Northern Virginia and the Washington, D.C. metro area and require work in secure government facilities. Remote or hybrid options are generally not available due to mission and access requirements.
Key Responsibilities May Include but are not limited to:
- Supporting the PPBE process by developing and analyzing program budgets, monitoring execution, and preparing documentation for programming and budgeting cycles.
- Tracking and reporting financial performance across multiple funding sources (RDT&E, O&M, procurement, etc.).
- Conducting cost analysis, trend forecasting, and resource planning to support long-range program objectives.
- Preparing budget justifications, exhibits, and briefing materials for leadership and external stakeholders.
- Assisting in audits, financial reviews, and compliance reporting.
- Advising program managers and government decision-makers on funding strategies and financial impacts.
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams—including acquisition, logistics, and program offices—to align budgets with technical and operational requirements.
- Ensuring accurate data entry, reconciliation, and reporting in financial systems such as DEAMS, GFEBS, Navy ERP, or similar DoD tools.
- Other financial or budgetary reporting, guidance or consulting task as required.
Qualifications We Look For:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field. A Master’s degree or certifications such as DoD FM Certification, CDFM, or DAWIA Business Financial Management are highly desirable.
- 5+ years of experience in a financial, budget, or program analyst role—preferably supporting DoD, federal, or defense contracting environments.
- Demonstrated experience supporting the PPBE process in a federal or defense context.
- Knowledge of DoD funding types (e.g., O&M, RDT&E, procurement), fiscal law, and appropriations rules.
- Experience working with financial management and execution systems such as DEAMS, GFEBS, PBIS, or similar platforms.
- Strong analytical and organizational skills, with the ability to produce clear and concise financial reports and recommendations.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; comfortable working with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Clearance Requirements:
- Active Secret clearance is required for most positions.
- Top Secret or higher clearance may be required for select roles.
