Cloud Automation Engineer – Anaplan UK
We are looking for a Cloud Automation Engineer to join our growing team at Anaplan UK as part of the Foundation Engineering team. You'll be working in a global environment, supporting the development and maintenance of our hybrid multi-cloud infrastructure.
This role is ideal for someone eager to grow their cloud automation skills while working on meaningful projects. You’ll work closely with experienced engineers, learning best practices in cloud architecture, automation, and infrastructure management.
What you will do:
- Support the design and implementation of scalable and secure infrastructure in a hybrid, multi-cloud environment (AWS/GCP/Azure).
- Assist in managing infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform and Docker.
- Develop and maintain configuration code with a focus on reusability and scalability.
- Participate in the automation of testing and deployment of infrastructure.
- Collaborate with Platform Engineering and other teams to ensure infrastructure meets scalability and resilience requirements.
- Learn and contribute to cloud architecture best practices.
- Help identify opportunities to optimize cloud resource usage and improve efficiency.
What we’re looking for:
- Experience with scripting languages such as Python or Bash.
- Familiarity with version control systems like Git.
- Basic understanding of automation tools such as Terraform.
- Working knowledge of Linux/Unix operating systems and basic networking concepts.
- Interest in working with public cloud providers (AWS, GCP, or Azure).
- Experience with or willingness to learn about REST APIs and automation pipelines.
- BSc degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
Preferred Experience (Nice to have):
- Hands-on experience with public cloud platforms (AWS, GCP or Azure).
- Exposure to monitoring tools like Grafana or Prometheus.
- Familiarity with CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins).
- Basic knowledge of containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Experience with configuration management tools (Ansible, Chef).
- Interest in tools like HashiCorp Packer, Vault, or Terraform Cloud.
