Anaplan is seeking a Technical Product Owner to join our Modeling team and play a critical role in shaping and executing the technical direction of our platform. Reporting to the Senior Director of Modeling, this individual will be based in our York office, UK, and will be instrumental in defining and managing the roadmap for the CORE engineering team.
As a Technical Product Owner, you will be responsible for organizing and prioritizing the CORE platform team’s work on topics such as model access platform, resource management and sizing, performance and consistency, and migration tooling.
You will ensure alignment with platform strategy, stakeholder needs, and customer impact. You will act as the connective tissue between engineering, architecture, product leadership, and customer-facing teams to deliver foundational capabilities that power Anaplan’s modeling engine and applications.
You will have a strong technical foundation, ideally with experience in enterprise SaaS platforms, and a solid understanding of product development lifecycles.
Your Impact
- Define and manage the CORE team roadmap, ensuring the right prioritization of technical work to support strategic modeling initiatives.
- Partner with Engineering and Architecture to scope and deliver scalable, performant platform components.
- Collaborate with Product Leadership, UX, and cross-functional teams to align technical capabilities with product goals and customer needs.
- Write and refine technical product requirements and user stories with clear acceptance criteria.
- Act as the voice of the customer and internal stakeholders to ensure technical investments are outcome-driven.
- Facilitate backlog governance, sprint planning, and technical trade-off discussions with engineering.
- Support the delivery of reusable platform services and internal tooling used by application and feature teams.
- Track progress, manage risks, and communicate status of core initiatives across teams.
- Drive collaboration across global teams and functions to support transparency and execution.
- Support go-to-market teams by enabling documentation and training around technical platform features.
Desired Skills
- Proven experience working as a Technical Product Owner in a technology-driven environment, preferably with experience in SaaS or enterprise software companies.
- Undestanding of platform performance monitoring and scaling in a SaaS environment
- Understanding of Kubernetes based architecture
- Understanding of BYOK
- Domain knowledge of Anaplan solutions, or implementation experience with Planning and modelling tools
- Strong understanding of the product management lifecycle and launching new products
- Proficiency in gathering and analysing market and customer insights.
- Ability to translate customer needs into actionable product requirements.
- Experience working in an Agile development environment and familiarity with tools like Jira, Confluence, etc.
- Excellent leadership skills – understand how to balance inputs, lead teams, prioritise, and make data-driven decisions
- Experience in creating and managing product roadmaps.
- Experience in creating enablement documentation including technical & support style documents
- Excellent organizational skills and experience in managing projects with multiple stakeholders to ensure successful product delivery
- Highly analytical and able to troubleshoot issues quickly; candidates should be able to go from high level to low level very easily
- A passion for building communities and enabling people
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams
- Team player with the ability to work autonomously
- Able and willing to work in a fast paced, quickly changing environment
