HR Manager / HR Site Lead — India Tech Hub (GCC / Captive Center)
Location: Gurgaon (Hybrid role)
Reports To: Head of People, APAC
Role Summary
We’re seeking a strategic, hands-on HR Manager / Site HR Lead to build and scale Anaplan’s Global Capability Center (GCC) in India from the ground up. This leader will shape the culture, employee experience, and organizational foundations of a technology hub that will grow to several hundred employees across Engineering, Product, and Technical Operations over the coming years.
You will serve as the India site’s HR leader— driving org design, enabling high-performance teams, and partnering with global leaders to establish a world-class centre of excellence. You will be expected to lead employee relations, investigations, disciplinary actions and ensure end-to-end compliance with Indian labour laws and statutory requirements. You will be responsible to build and lead a small but high-impact team of HR professionals to stand up the HR operating model in India. To do this role effectively, you will act as the India connector for the People team, ensuring alignment between local requirements and global People programs and initiatives.
Your Impact
Build from the Ground Up
- Partner with global and regional People, TA, and Real Estate teams to design and operationalize the India GCC setup — including org design, workforce planning, and HR process implementation.
- Establish site-level HR frameworks, policies, and compliance aligned with Anaplan’s global standards and local labor regulations, including employee relations
Strategic Business Partnership
- Act as the HR partner to India’s site leadership team, providing counsel on people strategy, talent planning, organization effectiveness, and leadership development.
- Partner closely with global People COEs (Talent, Total Rewards, L&D, DEI) to localize and execute programs effectively for the India market.
Scale People Operations & Engagement
- Build scalable HR operations to support rapid headcount growth—onboarding, performance management, mobility, compliance, and retention.
- Drive high-engagement initiatives that strengthen connection to Anaplan’s mission, purpose, and values.
Leadership Enablement & Culture Stewardship
- Coach and support senior managers on performance, team health and leadership effectiveness
- Lead culture-building initiatives and site-level engagement programs that positions the India Tech Hub as an employer of choice.
Talent & Market Expansion Support
- Work closely with TA (Talent Acquisition) to accelerate high-volume tech hiring, and seamless onboarding of new employees.
- Support hiring drives, open house events, and university partnerships to build talent pipelines.
Data, Insights, and Governance
- Leverage data and analytics to provide actionable insights on attrition, engagement, and workforce productivity.
- Ensure strong HR governance, risk management, and compliance throughout rapid scaling.
Your Experience
- 10–15 years of progressive HR experience, ideally in GCCs, Captive Tech Centers, or high-growth SaaS/Tech organizations.
- Proven track record of building and scaling a new site or function (preferably 300–1000 employees).
- Deep experience across HR business partnering, HR operations, and organizational development.
- Experience supporting engineering and product teams in a fast-scaling environment.
- Demonstrated ability to balance strategic planning with hands-on execution, especially in greenfield or transformation contexts.
- Strong understanding of India labor laws, compliance, and employee relations frameworks.
- Excellent stakeholder management, influencing, and communication skills — able to operate effectively across time zones and cultures.
- Data-driven mindset, with strong familiarity using HR analytics and dashboards to inform decisions.
Nice to Have
- Experience in a start-up or scale-up GCC environment (0→500+ employees).
- Exposure to global SaaS, AI, or technology firms with distributed teams.
- Experience designing or running site-level leadership development and engagement programs.
