Role Summary

We are seeking an experienced and hands-on leader to manage our DevOps Engineering team. As a Manager, you will be responsible for the day-to-day success, operational excellence, and career growth of the engineers who maintain our critical CI/CD and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) toolchain.

Following established operational policies, you will lead your team in administering our core DevOps platforms, including Jenkins, Artifactory, HashiCorp Vault, and Terraform Enterprise on AWS. This role is ideal for a customer-centric leader who excels at meeting schedules, guiding technical experts, and ensuring the stability and performance of essential engineering services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Team Leadership & Development: Manage the daily activities and performance of the DevOps Engineering team. Work with employees to set clear contribution goals, provide regular feedback, and create an environment that fosters development and career growth.
  • Operational Excellence: Oversee the administration, maintenance, and availability of the DevOps toolchain. Develop and manage schedules and performance requirements to ensure platform uptime and reliability.
  • Tactical Execution & Support: Act as the primary point of escalation for the team, providing guidance on complex troubleshooting for CI/CD pipelines, secrets management, and infrastructure issues. Ensure the team provides timely and effective support to our internal engineering customers.
  • Process Improvement: Recommend and establish procedures that improve team efficiency and service quality. Follow and enforce operational policies, ensuring the team adheres to best practices for security, upgrades, and incident response.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Interact frequently with functional peer group managers and internal customers. Lead cooperative efforts among team members and cross-functional partners to resolve issues and deliver on project goals.

Required Skills

Experience: Typically requires a minimum of 5-8+ years of related experience in a DevOps, SRE, or Platform Engineering environment, with demonstrated experience leading projects or mentoring team members.

  • Technical Knowledge:
    • Strong understanding of DevOps principles and the administration of CI/CD toolchains (e.g., Jenkins, Artifactory, GitHub, Vault, Terraform).
    • Solid experience with AWS infrastructure management and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) concepts.
    • Proven ability to diagnose and guide teams through complex technical issues across distributed systems.
    • Familiarity with scripting, automation, and modern operational best practices.
  • Management & Soft Skills:
  • A customer-centric approach with a passion for enabling engineering productivity and success.
  • Excellent ability to manage schedules, set performance requirements, and use resources effectively to meet goals.
  • Strong communication skills for interacting with employees, peers, and internal customers.
  • Proven ability to lead cooperative efforts and foster a collaborative team environment.
