About the Role

As Manager of Data Operations, you will lead the day-to-day execution of Anaplan’s revenue data programs and support the health of our Go-To-Market (GTM) data ecosystem. You will manage a team of data operations specialists, partner closely with Sales, Marketing, and GTM Operations, and ensure the accuracy, completeness, and reliability of data across our GTM systems. This position reports to the Director of GTM Technology & Data Operations and plays an important cross-functional role in maintaining data quality standards and driving operational improvements. As this role supports global projects across AMER, EMEA, and APAC, the successful candidate will be required to work flexible hours to accommodate different time zones

Key Responsibilities

Data Strategy & Governance

  • Contribute to and execute against the data stewardship roadmap, supporting data ownership practices across GTM systems in alignment with direction from senior leadership.
  • Partner with stakeholders in Sales, Marketing, and IT to understand priorities and translate them into actionable data operations work.
  • Participate in cross-functional initiatives including territory planning, system migrations, and product launches, serving as the data operations point of contact.
  • Maintain and improve comprehensive documentation for data processes, governance standards, and system workflows.
  • Uphold data quality standards across GTM systems and work with cross-functional partners to address gaps and drive accountability.

Data Quality & Enrichment

  • Manage the execution of data enrichment programs, leveraging tools such as ZoomInfo RingLead and D&B Connect to improve the completeness and depth of the GTM database. Coordinate with Marketing Operations.
  • Support the definition and monitoring of data quality SLAs in partnership with Sales, Marketing, and GTM Ops, tracking outcomes and escalating issues as needed.
  • Foster a proactive data quality culture through regular audits, cleansing routines, and ongoing stakeholder communication.
  • Participate in the enterprise data governance framework as a GTM data representative, helping to implement policy and maintain compliance standards alongside the global Data Governance team.

Data Operations Execution

  • Manage and continuously improve automation workflows for data management, including de-duplication, validation, and process automation in Salesforce and connected systems.
  • Execute data-driven database hygiene campaigns to maintain database integrity, reduce sales friction, and improve marketing segmentation effectiveness.
  • Prepare and share data quality reporting and operational status updates for stakeholders at the manager and director level.
  • Support the evaluation of data tooling and assist in managing vendor relationships; provide input on tool performance and usage.
  • Contribute to the data operations technology roadmap by identifying operational gaps and recommending solutions in partnership with leadership.
  • Identify opportunities for AI-assisted data operations using tools such as Gemini Enterprise, implementing automations that reduce manual effort and improve data quality.
  • Assist with tracking data operations spend and surface efficiency opportunities to leadership.

Team Leadership

  • Manage, mentor, and develop a team of data operations professionals; foster a collaborative, high-accountability team culture.
  • Support team members' professional growth through regular coaching, feedback, and performance conversations.
  • Coordinate team workload, set clear priorities, and ensure the team delivers against commitments on time and at quality.

Qualifications

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Mathematics, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in data operations, data management, or business operations in a SaaS or technology company.
  • 2+ years of direct people management experience, with demonstrated success leading a data operations team or function.
  • Experience working cross-functionally and building productive relationships with peers in Sales, Marketing, and Operations.
  • Comfortable presenting data quality metrics and operational updates to manager- and director-level stakeholders.

Technical Skills

  • Core Data & CRM: Salesforce (Expert); SQL (proficient in querying, validation, and analysis)
  • Data Integration & Warehousing: Informatica; Reverse ETL tools; Google BigQuery
  • BI & Reporting: Tableau
  • Data Enrichment & AI: ZoomInfo RingLead; D&B Connect; Gemini Enterprise
  • GTM System Architecture: Familiarity with data flows for Marketing Automation Platforms (e.g., Marketo) and Sales Engagement Platforms (e.g., Outreach)
  • Scripting (Preferred): Python or similar scripting language for data automation and API integration
  • Advanced Excel skills (complex formulas, power queries, pivot tables)

  • Operational Excellence: Proven ability to manage and improve data operations processes with measurable outcomes; comfortable working within established frameworks and escalating when needed.
  • Process Improvement: Experience implementing or refining processes around data stewardship, integrity, deduplication, and validation.
  • Analytical Mindset: Strong problem-solving skills to troubleshoot database issues and translate data findings into clear, actionable business insights.
  • Cross-Functional Communication: Strong interpersonal and communication skills to collaborate with peers, align stakeholders, and convey data topics clearly to non-technical audiences.
  • Vendor Coordination: Experience supporting vendor relationships and tracking tool performance and contract details.
