
Senior Medical Biller & Coder

The Role
The Senior Medical Biller addresses complex billing issues and ensures claims meet payer standards and reimbursement requirements. This role works across clinical, operational, and billing teams to resolve claim issues and maintain billing accuracy across the revenue cycle.
Responsibilities
- Investigate complex claim denials and prepare payer appeals to recover reimbursement.
- Review claims and documentation to ensure compliance with payer billing requirements.
- Identify patterns in claim denials or billing errors and work with operational teams to correct root causes.
- Support billing quality review processes to maintain consistent claim accuracy.
- Audit Provider charts and notes to ensure coding accuracy.
- Provide feedback to providers regarding documentation needed to support compliant coding.
Requirements
- Active Certified Professional Coder (CPC) certification required.
- Advanced working knowledge of ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS coding frameworks within outpatient clinical settings.
- Experience conducting coding reviews and documentation audits to ensure claims meet payer documentation standards.
- Demonstrated experience resolving complex claim denials and payer appeals.
- Strong familiarity with EHR billing systems and clearinghouse platforms such as Epic, Athenahealth, eClinicalWorks, NextGen, Waystar, Availity, or Change Healthcare.
- Experience working within commercial and government payer systems, including Medicare and Medicaid billing requirements.

Compensation
Compensation within this range is determined based on relevant experience, licensure, skills, scope of responsibility, and internal equity. Anchor Health maintains structured salary bands and reviews compensation periodically to ensure alignment with market conditions, organizational needs, and individual performance.
Salary Range
$60,000 - $80,000 USD
