We are Anchor Point Studios and we’re looking for a Lead Level Designer to help us build the future of mind-blowing video game entertainment with a new, innovative 3D action title.
About the Role
- Work closely with the Creative Director to establish the level design direction and quality bar for crafting memorable and compelling gameplay experiences through procedural level design.
- Plan out the different regions of the world, ensuring that each has a unique theme with clearly defined characteristics and gameplay features for memorable gameplay experiences in each region.
- Establish the process and rules for generating quality procedural content, including room layouts, gameplay content layers and enemy encounters.
- Lead the level design team in producing all needed content for the game, holding regular reviews and providing feedback so their work meets the required quality bar.
- Conduct regular playtests in order to make improvements to game content and processes based on player feedback.
- Communicate the level design direction to the team regularly, as needed.
About You
- A strong design sense and deep understanding of all aspects of level design, including architecture, layout, composition, combat & encounter design, pacing & flow, difficulty balancing, progression and usability.
- At least 7 years of industry experience building levels for action/adventure titles, with at least 3 years in a senior role.
- At least 2 shipped games on console / PC.
- Experience using Unreal Engine (UE4 or UE5).
- Excellent interpersonal communication skills and the ability to communicate ideas well and collaboratively within a multicultural team.
- Procedural generation experience preferred.
- Team management experience preferred.
