Veterinary Technician

Andover Animal Hospital - Andover, Minnesota

Veterinary Technician/Assistant - LVT/CVT in Andover, MN

We’re looking for an enthusiastic, compassionate, and skilled Veterinary Technician to join our pack! If you love helping animals feel their best, thrive in a team environment, and can handle a little fur, slobber, and the occasional dramatic patient, we’d love to meet you!

What You’ll Do: Your Daily Adventures

  • Be a Pet Detective: Gather patient histories, record vital signs, assess patient conditions, and help our veterinary team get to the bottom of every sniffle, scratch, and suspicious limp.
  • Master the Art of Comfort: Restrain and handle animals safely and gently while providing plenty of reassurance, patience, and the occasional belly rub when appropriate.
  • Assist the Medical Dream Team: Support veterinarians during examinations, treatments, surgeries, and other medical procedures.
  • Lab Coat, Activate!: Collect and prepare samples, perform diagnostic tests, run laboratory equipment, and help deliver accurate, timely results.
  • Medication Mission: Administer medications and treatments as directed by the veterinarian, following proper protocols and carefully monitoring patients.
  • Recovery Room Rockstar: Monitor anesthesia, track vital signs, assist with surgical preparation, and keep a watchful eye on patients during recovery.
  • Keep It Clean, Keep It Safe: Sterilize instruments, disinfect treatment areas, maintain equipment, and help keep our clinic sparkling and ready for action.
  • Client Communication Champion: Welcome pet parents, answer questions within your scope of practice, explain home-care instructions, and provide compassionate support when worries run high.
  • Organizational Wizard: Maintain accurate medical records, manage supplies, and help keep appointments and daily workflows running smoothly.
  • Teamwork Makes the Dream Work: Collaborate with veterinarians, fellow technicians, assistants, and client care team members to provide outstanding patient care.
  • Spread the Love: Help create a positive, fear-conscious environment where pets feel safe, clients feel supported, and coworkers feel appreciated.

What Makes You a Great Fit?

  • A genuine love for animals and a big heart for the people who love them.
  • Strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and a calm, caring approach.
  • The ability to multitask, think on your feet, and stay composed when the clinic gets busy.
  • A team-first attitude, a willingness to learn, and a good sense of humor.
  • Comfort working with animals of different sizes, temperaments, and medical needs.
  • Veterinary Technician education, credentialing, or relevant clinical experience as required for the position and applicable local regulations.
  • A commitment to patient safety, compassionate care, and continued professional growth.

 What We Offer

  • A supportive, collaborative team that appreciates your skills and celebrates your wins.
  • Opportunities to learn, grow, and expand your veterinary knowledge.
  • Meaningful work that makes a difference in the lives of pets and their families.
  • Plenty of tail wags, happy purrs, and unforgettable moments.
  • A workplace where compassion matters, teamwork counts, and your contributions are valued.

Benefits, compensation, schedule, and professional development opportunities will be discussed during the hiring process.
