Payroll Administrator
Own payroll. Make it better. Be the person everyone trusts to get it right.
Andrew’s is a growing, multi-division company working in refrigeration, HVAC, plumbing, electrical, concrete, and construction across Arizona. About 270 people count on us to pay them accurately and on time, and we’re looking for a Payroll Administrator to own that.
This isn’t a “just push the button” role. You’ll run payroll end to end, handle taxes at year-end, keep our certified payroll airtight, and have real room to improve how things get done. If you like being the go-to expert and enjoy the puzzle of construction payroll, we’d love to meet you.
What You’ll Own
Payroll, start to finish
- Run weekly payroll across multiple entities and divisions.
- Handle off-cycles, final pay, bonuses, retro pay, and reimbursements.
- Calculate overtime and prevailing wage/fringe correctly, every time.
Davis-Bacon & certified payroll
- Prepare, maintain, and submit Davis-Bacon certified payroll reports for public and prevailing wage projects.
- Apply wage determinations, worker classifications, and fringe requirements accurately so we stay compliant with every contract and agency.
Taxes & year-end
- Familiar with payroll tax filings and deposits (941s, state withholding, unemployment).
- Assist with annual audits, including preparing payroll documentation, reports, and reconciliations for auditors.
Systems & reporting
- Serve as our Paylocity owner, maintaining earning and deduction codes, benefit deductions, and tax setups.
- Maintain Excel reports and identify tools that make payroll faster, cleaner, and easier to understand.
People & partnership
- Be the go-to resource for payroll questions from employees, managers, and leadership.
- Work closely with HR, accounting, and division managers.
What You Bring
- 3 - 5+ years of payroll experience (ideally in construction or the trades), including running the full cycle independently.
- Hands-on experience maintaining and reporting Davis-Bacon certified payroll.
- Solid working knowledge of payroll taxes, year-end/W-2s, and FLSA compliance.
- Strong Excel skills: XLOOKUP/VLOOKUP, pivot tables, formulas, and reconciliations.
- Experience with Paylocity or a similar payroll system.
- Sharp attention to detail, good judgment, and discretion with confidential info.
- Bonus points for CPP or FPC certification.
Why You’ll Like It Here
- Real ownership: this is your function to run and shape.
- Room to improve things: we welcome better processes, smarter spreadsheets, and cleaner systems.
- Visible impact: every employee across our job sites feels the difference when payroll is done right.
- A team that values you: you’ll work directly with HR, accounting, and leadership, not in a silo.
