Software Product Manager

Anduril Industries is a defense technology company with a mission to transform U.S. and allied military capabilities with advanced technology. By bringing the expertise, technology, and business model of the 21st century’s most innovative companies to the defense industry, Anduril is changing how military systems are designed, built and sold. Anduril’s family of systems is powered by Lattice OS, an AI-powered operating system that turns thousands of data streams into a realtime, 3D command and control center. As the world enters an era of strategic competition, Anduril is committed to bringing cutting-edge autonomy, AI, computer vision, sensor fusion, and networking technology to the military in months, not years.

Anduril is a defence technology company, bringing Silicon Valley talent and funding to the defence sector. Our technology helps our customers solve their toughest challenges by enabling them to make better, more informed decisions in life-and-death situations. We’ve assembled a diverse team of experts in robotics, autonomy, software, mechanical and electrical engineering to create technology solutions that radically evolve the defence capability of Australia and our allies. If you are passionate about solving problems that have real impact, we want you to join Anduril Australia and help us build the future of defence capability.

At Anduril Australia we are developing unmanned systems for subsurface and other domains that will leverage unsupervised autonomy for the delivery of long endurance, multi-mission capability to our customers. These projects, including but not limited to the Extra Large Autonomous Undersea Vehicle (XL-AUV) Program, require Software Product Managers with broad experience to drive the vision and delivery a variety of software enabled hardware capabilities to our customers. Anduril Software Product Managers rapidly develop expertise in new domains in order to envision, design, deliver, support, and evolve next generation capabilities through the entire product life-cycle.

ABOUT YOU

You have experience in software product development and have taken something from a wild idea through a shipped solution. You are comfortable at both ends of that spectrum: creatively envisioning transformative user experiences, and tactically executing to get software shipped. You are curious and have a high rate of learning. You can engage deeply with engineers on conceptual and technical decisions, and can prioritise thoughtfully between multiple approaches. You can turn conflicting or incomplete ideas into concrete action plans, and you can clearly (but tactfully) say “no” when needed. You bias towards any action that’s needed to make your product valuable, whether that’s developing a demo, helping test a piece of Lattice-enabled hardware in the field, writing documentation, or QA'ing a new release, in addition to your core product management activities.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

    • Define Lattice’s future. Identify ways to evolve Lattice that will create an excellent end-user or developer experience, and increase Anduril’s ability to quickly deliver valuable capability at scale. To do this, you will seek out real-world context in the form of onsite user engagement, internal expert feedback, existing product data, and industry tech investigation. You will capture core workflows and translate these user needs into well-scoped requirements and solution designs, and act as an internal expert partnering with engineers.
    • Prioritize and plan. Set clear outcomes for your portfolio in partnership with your engineering, design, and business partners. Develop team structures that allow prioritization of competing work within rapid development cycles. Help your team flex to adapt goals when needed, based on new information.
    • Communicate vision and execution strategy. Proactively communicate goals to stakeholders and manage expectations of delivery. Escalate large trade offs and necessary decision points as needed.
    • Execute. Work hands-on to deliver new capabilities across the lifecycle of the product, from initial concept definition and scoping, through development, user testing and release, and ongoing evolution. Validate and experiment along the way, acting as the voice of the user throughout.
    • When possible, lead with data. Define and monitor key metrics to measure success — but be comfortable with taking alternate approaches in domains where data isn’t available.
    • External storytelling. Work with business development, proposal, marketing, and compliance leads to communicate product capabilities externally. Participate in large-scale customer demos.
    • Build product culture. Develop relationships to bridge business and technical worlds. Build tech alongside prolific engineers and designers, and then zoom out to work with business development, operations, customer success, marketing, and finance teams in order to ensure success. Along the way, you’ll help define and drive product team culture and best practices.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

    • Extensive professional experience in software product development, including in a hands-on product management capacity (although your title may not have been “product manager”)
    • Ability to exercise extremely high ownership over a complex system, including design, integration, test, and delivery of new capabilities
    • Demonstrated success of learning quickly about complex problem spaces and breaking them down into addressable component parts
    • Proven ability to motivate cross functional teams to do their best work and ship high-impact products
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
    • Aptitude for working with internal and external stakeholders, across a wide range of technical comfort
    • Must be eligible to obtain and maintain an Australian TS PV clearance

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

    • Defence, national security, or aerospace domain familiarity through prior service, industry, or education
    • Active Australian clearance of NV1 or higher helpful but not required

Form CC-305

OMB Control Number 1250-0005
Expires 04/30/2026

Why are you being asked to complete this form?

We are a federal contractor or subcontractor. The law requires us to provide equal employment opportunity to qualified people with disabilities. We have a goal of having at least 7% of our workers as people with disabilities. The law says we must measure our progress towards this goal. To do this, we must ask applicants and employees if they have a disability or have ever had one. People can become disabled, so we need to ask this question at least every five years.

Completing this form is voluntary, and we hope that you will choose to do so. Your answer is confidential. No one who makes hiring decisions will see it. Your decision to complete the form and your answer will not harm you in any way. If you want to learn more about the law or this form, visit the U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) website at www.dol.gov/ofccp.
