Warfighter Systems Engineering

Seattle, Washington, United States

Anduril Industries is a defense technology company with a mission to transform U.S. and allied military capabilities with advanced technology. By bringing the expertise, technology, and business model of the 21st century’s most innovative companies to the defense industry, Anduril is changing how military systems are designed, built and sold. Anduril’s family of systems is powered by Lattice OS, an AI-powered operating system that turns thousands of data streams into a realtime, 3D command and control center. As the world enters an era of strategic competition, Anduril is committed to bringing cutting-edge autonomy, AI, computer vision, sensor fusion, and networking technology to the military in months, not years.

The Warfighter Systems division is pioneering a future where mixed reality (MR) creates immersive, intuitive, and life-saving technologies. We develop next-generation capabilities that put advanced technology directly in the hands of operators, enhancing soldier lethality and survivability. This team is responsible for taking innovative concepts from prototype to fieldable product on aggressive timelines.

ABOUT THE JOB

You'll build the technical development and productization of advanced hardware and software systems that integrate cutting-edge technologies—including computer vision, sensor fusion, RF and networking systems, embedded computing, precision actuation, autonomy, and ruggedized platform design. This is a zero-to-one build opportunity where you'll contribute to the transition from early-stage prototypes to fielded, production-ready systems built for operational environments.

We're looking for senior engineers and technical leaders with deep expertise in one or more of the following:

  • RF and networking systems – communications architectures, wireless systems, distributed networks
  • Hardware engineering – electromechanical integration, precision actuation, ruggedized platform design
  • Embedded software and real-time systems – edge computing, control algorithms, sensor fusion
  • Sensor integration – computer vision, lidar, optical systems, multi-sensor architectures
  • Systems architecture – complex system integration, autonomy platforms, hardware/software co-design

Whether you're an RF expert, a hardware engineering leader, a software architect, or a systems integrator who operates across multiple domains—if you have a track record of taking complex technical systems from concept to production, we want to talk to you.

Your scope will include system architecture and integration across hardware and software domains, component selection and qualification, algorithm optimization, mechanical and electrical design, manufacturing scalability, and test and evaluation. You'll build and lead a high-performing engineering team within Anduril's Connected Warfare Division, establishing technical vision and driving rapid execution from concept to deployed capability. This role demands the ability to operate across disciplines—bridging embedded systems, autonomy, sensors, communications, and platform integration—while maintaining relentless focus on delivering mission-critical capability to end users.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

  • Lead end-to-end technical and programmatic execution to transition prototypes and proof-of-concept systems into production-ready products for defense customers
  • Build and manage a high-performing, multidisciplinary engineering team, establishing team culture, technical standards, and execution cadence
  • Own the technical roadmap for system productization, including architecture definition, hardware/software integration, design for manufacturing, ruggedization, qualification testing, and supply chain strategy
  • Work cross-functionally with software, hardware, autonomy, RF/networking, systems engineering, and manufacturing teams to optimize system performance, reliability, and scalability
  • Establish and execute rigorous qualification and testing programs to validate performance, reliability, and safety under operational conditions
  • Support field testing and operational evaluation with end users, incorporating feedback to refine system design and performance
  • Ensure all work meets applicable safety standards, MIL-STD requirements, and regulatory compliance frameworks
  • Manage technical risk, schedule, and resource planning to deliver capabilities on aggressive timelines
  • Travel 25%+ to test sites, manufacturing partners, customer locations, and operational environments

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Mechanical, Electrical, Computer, Robotics, Systems Engineering, or related technical field
  • 10+ years of hardware and/or software engineering experience with demonstrated progression in technical leadership roles
  • Proven track record taking prototype or proof-of-concept systems to production and customer delivery
  • Deep experience with complex system integration across hardware, software, and/or electromechanical domains
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, design for manufacturability (DFM), reliability engineering, and supply chain management
  • Experience building and leading engineering teams, setting technical vision, and driving execution in fast-paced environments
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to interface with cross-functional teams, senior leadership, and customers
  • Must be a U.S. person & eligible to obtain and maintain a U.S. Secret security clearance
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Proven ability to take multiple products from concept to market or operational deployment
  • Background in one or more of the following: precision systems, sensor integration, RF/communications systems, embedded computing, autonomy platforms, or ruggedized hardware design
  • Experience with defense or aerospace systems, including familiarity with MIL-STD requirements and military qualification programs
  • Knowledge of sensor technologies such as lidar, optical systems, radar, or RF sensing
  • Familiarity with real-time control systems, edge computing, and distributed architectures
  • Experience with system-level testing, environmental qualification, and reliability validation
  • Background working in fast-paced, high-ambiguity startup or R&D environments

Disclaimer: Given the broad spectrum of technical specializations and leadership levels these roles encompass, the compensation package will be highly competitive and individually tailored based on your specific experience, depth of expertise in relevant domains (e.g., RF, hardware, software, systems architecture), and demonstrated leadership capabilities.

Expires 04/30/2026

Why are you being asked to complete this form?

We are a federal contractor or subcontractor. The law requires us to provide equal employment opportunity to qualified people with disabilities. We have a goal of having at least 7% of our workers as people with disabilities. The law says we must measure our progress towards this goal. To do this, we must ask applicants and employees if they have a disability or have ever had one. People can become disabled, so we need to ask this question at least every five years.

Completing this form is voluntary, and we hope that you will choose to do so. Your answer is confidential. No one who makes hiring decisions will see it. Your decision to complete the form and your answer will not harm you in any way. If you want to learn more about the law or this form, visit the U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) website at www.dol.gov/ofccp.
