Staff Software Engineer, Production Solutions

Costa Mesa, California, United States

Anduril Industries is a defense technology company with a mission to transform U.S. and allied military capabilities with advanced technology. By bringing the expertise, technology, and business model of the 21st century’s most innovative companies to the defense industry, Anduril is changing how military systems are designed, built and sold. Anduril’s family of systems is powered by Lattice OS, an AI-powered operating system that turns thousands of data streams into a realtime, 3D command and control center. As the world enters an era of strategic competition, Anduril is committed to bringing cutting-edge autonomy, AI, computer vision, sensor fusion, and networking technology to the military in months, not years.

ABOUT THE TEAM:

ArsenalOS is the digital backbone of Anduril’s hardware enterprise. It connects the full lifecycle, from concept to build to field feedback, into one operating environment built for speed, traceability, autonomy, and continuous improvement. That environment includes not just the software used to design, plan, and execute work, but also the factory-facing infrastructure that connects operators, machines, test systems, and OT networks into the same adaptive Build Chain. It is not a support function, but rather a strategic investment by Anduril that the operating system of the hardware lifecycle is how we win. It will be one of the mechanisms by which Anduril out-builds, out-adapts, and out-scales the traditional defense industrial base.

To move at the speed of software, our warehouse and material operations must be equally agile. The Senior Software Product Manager, Warehouse Management Systems owns the digital system that enables Anduril’s warehouses and material flow teams to receive, store, move, pick, pack, ship, and trace critical inventory with speed and precision. In this role, you will define and deliver the internal software systems that power warehouse execution across our factories and operational sites, transforming fragmented, manual workflows into a scalable, reliable, and deeply integrated material operations platform.

You must be able to zoom all the way in to improve how a single operator receives or picks material, and zoom all the way out to design the systems, data models, and workflows that connect warehouse execution to planning, manufacturing, procurement, quality, and fulfillment. Every minute we save in material flow, every error we prevent, and every improvement we make to inventory accuracy helps Anduril build and field critical technology faster.

ABOUT THE JOB

We are looking for a Staff Software Engineer to join ArsenalOS, the digital backbone of Anduril's hardware enterprise from design to sustainment. You'll architect the distributed systems within our Manufacturing (Production Solutions) team in Forge MES (Manufacturing Execution System) that orchestrate Anduril's production operations—work order management, scheduling, material flow, and capacity planning—turning factories into adaptive, software-defined production networks. This isn't about digitizing existing processes. It's about building the technical foundation that makes Anduril's hardware enterprise more adaptive as it scales, not less.

Your impact will span beyond the immediate team. You'll serve as a technical bridge between Manufacturing and our Platform/Foundations organization, shaping infrastructure that meets production-scale demands while driving adoption of platform capabilities. You'll represent manufacturing in broader architectural decisions, ensuring production requirements influence the systems that connect design changes to shop floor execution. Your decisions will determine whether Anduril can absorb more manufacturing complexity without slowing down—and whether we out-build the traditional defense industrial base.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

Technical Architecture & Execution:

  • Define and drive technical architecture for Manufacturing Production Solutions - make decisions on system design, scalability patterns, integration strategies, and platform vs. build tradeoffs that shape team execution
  • Architect and implement complex distributed systems - build mission-critical services, APIs, and tooling that enable safe, fast delivery across manufacturing production workflows (work orders, scheduling, material tracking, capacity planning)
  • Lead by example with engineering excellence - establish patterns through hands-on work: comprehensive testing, deployment safety (blue/green/canary), infrastructure as code, observability, and operational rigor

Cross-Team Influence & Collaboration:

  • Bridge product and platform teams - collaborate with Platform/Foundations to shape shared infrastructure based on Manufacturing needs while driving adoption of platform capabilities
  • Partner across MES product teams - integrate Manufacturing Production Solutions into cohesive manufacturing experiences, evolve data models across production/quality/supply chain domains, and drive technical consensus on cross-cutting concerns
  • Represent manufacturing domain technically - work with architecture, security, operations, and infrastructure teams to ensure production operations requirements influence broader technical decisions

Team & Technical Standards:

  • Raise the technical bar for the team - through rigorous code review, architecture discussions, establishing shared ownership models, and improving practices that balance velocity with correctness
  • Remove friction and unblock execution - identify systemic technical issues, eliminate single points of failure, and create leverage through automation and improved tooling

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 12+ years of experience in a software engineering role building products in fast-paced environments
  • Proven ability to influence technical direction across teams - drive architectural consensus, build alignment, and lead technical initiatives beyond a single team
  • Experience working with large enterprise applications and platforms with high availability requirements
  • Strong full-stack capabilities with expertise in modern web technologies - JavaScript/TypeScript, React, and web frameworks (Next.js, Remix, etc.)
  • Systems thinking and domain translation - ability to understand manufacturing operations requirements and design scalable technical architectures that enable production workflows at enterprise scale
  • Excellent communication skills, able to influence stakeholders, translate ambiguous manufacturing requirements and build cross-team alignment
  • U.S. Person status is required as this position needs to access export controlled data

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • We encourage people from all backgrounds to apply but our tech stack uses AWS, Typescript, and React/Remix so familiarity with all of these tools will be particularly helpful
  • Experience in hyper growth startup-like environments. Demonstrated successes in scaling and maturing software development processes, team culture and methods, and ability to balance short-term and long-term trade offs
  • Manufacturing operations domain knowledge - experience with manufacturing execution systems (MES), enterprise resource planning (ERP), production scheduling systems, work order management, or supply chain management platforms
  • Experience in defense, autonomy, robotics, or mission-critical systems (helpful but not required)
  • Experience with AI/LLM integration - leveraging state-of-the-art models and agentic tooling in production software development
  • Eligible to obtain and maintain a U.S. TS/SCI clearance

Why are you being asked to complete this form?

We are a federal contractor or subcontractor. The law requires us to provide equal employment opportunity to qualified people with disabilities. We have a goal of having at least 7% of our workers as people with disabilities. The law says we must measure our progress towards this goal. To do this, we must ask applicants and employees if they have a disability or have ever had one. People can become disabled, so we need to ask this question at least every five years.

Completing this form is voluntary, and we hope that you will choose to do so. Your answer is confidential. No one who makes hiring decisions will see it. Your decision to complete the form and your answer will not harm you in any way. If you want to learn more about the law or this form, visit the U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) website at www.dol.gov/ofccp.
