Scientist to Sr. Scientist, Pharmacology

Job Responsibilities:

1. Tissue Sample Processing and Histopathological Analysis:

Be proficient in and participate in the collection and processing of animal tissue samples, including hard-tissue resin embedding, frozen and paraffin-embedded tissue sectioning, immunohistochemistry (IHC), routine histological staining, and in situ hybridization. Independently develop and apply various software tools for histopathological imaging, and biochemical data analysis.

2. Animal Models and In Vivo Studies:

  • Lead the identification, characterization, and optimization of animal disease models for new research projects.
  • Participate in experimental design and lead the execution of  in vivo animal studies.
  • Collaborate with CROs and relevant internal functions to ensure effective communication and support the advancement of drug development programs.

3. Cell Biology:

Independently conduct and complete cell-based research activities, including specialized cell screening and characterization, gene transfection and genetic modification, establishment of basic functional cell models, and flow cytometry analysis, to support efficacy evaluation and mechanism-of-action studies. Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior team members, while actively supporting team capability building

4. Molecular Biology:

  • Perform routine molecular biology and biochemical assays, including but not limited to genotyping, ELISA, qPCR, Western blotting, and biochemical assays.
  • Maintain accurate experimental records, document raw data, and perform preliminary data analysis and interpretation.
  • Independently establish, optimize, and improve analytical methods by leveraging emerging and advanced technologies to support research needs.

5. Experimental Documentation and Compliance Support:

  • Guide and support junior researchers in maintaining standardized and compliant records of experimental procedures and results.
  • Organize experimental data and assist in the preparation of study documents, reports, and relevant compliance materials.
  • Participate in and contribute to the preparation and completion of periodic experimental and project progress reports.

6. Cross-Functional Collaboration and Support:

  • Provide cross-functional coordination and communication in accordance with project and business needs, as well as other responsibilities assigned by management.
  •  Facilitate effective cross-functional communication and collaboration to ensure alignment on R&D pipeline activities and key timelines, support high-quality execution of R&D projects.

  1. 组织样本处理与病理分析:熟知并参与完成动物组织样本的采集与处理,包括硬组织树脂包被、冰冻和石蜡组织切片制备、免疫组织化学染色(IHC)、常规组织染色及原位杂交等实验操作。可独立开发和利用不同软件进行组织病理和生化分析。
  2. 动物模型与体内实验:负责新项目动物疾病模型发现、鉴定、和优化。参与实验设计并带领体内动物实验操作和执行;协助与CRO及公司内部相关部门沟通,支持药物研发项目推进。
  3. 细胞生物学实验:独立开展和完成细胞水平研究工作,包括特种细胞筛选鉴定、基因转染和基因改造及基础功能性细胞模型的构建,流式细胞分析等,用于药效评价及机制研究。同时指导团队其他成员,推动团队能力建设。
  4. 分子生物学实验操作:进行常规分子生物学实验分析,包括但不限于基因型鉴定、ELISA、qPCR、Western Blot、生物化学检测等,按照既定流程完成实验操作、原始数据记录及基础结果整理。瞄准前沿技术独立完成多方面方法学建立和优化提升。
  5. 实验记录与合规支持:指导和支持初级研究人员规范记录实验过程与结果,整理实验数据,协助完成实验文档、报告及相关合规性材料,并参与和完成阶段性实验结果报告。
  6. 多部门协作和支持:根据项目和业务的要求,及上级安排的其他相关工作,做好相关部门内部协调沟通,确保研发管线进展及项目时间线信息同步,支持项目高效执行。。

 

Qualifications and Requirements:

1. Educational Background: Master's degree or above in Biology, Biotechnology, Biomedical Sciences, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Basic Medicine, or a related discipline.

2. Work experience: Scientist: Master’s degree with 7–9 years of relevant work experience or Ph.D. (in Physiology, Cell Biology, or a related discipline) with 3-5 years of relevant experience. Postdoctoral research experience (≥2-3 years) is preferred; Sr. Scientist: Master’s degree with 10 years of relevant work experience or Ph.D. (in Physiology, Cell Biology, or a related discipline) with 6 years of relevant experience. Postdoctoral research experience (≥2-3 years) is preferred.

3. Technical Skills and Research Experience

  • Scientific Background
    • Strong foundation in biological and biomedical sciences.
    • Background and research experience in bone, muscle, and joint biology are highly preferred.
  • Cell and Molecular Biology
    • Strong understanding of the principles and applications of cell and molecular biology, with the ability to independently perform relevant experimental procedures.
    • Hands-on experience with advanced molecular biology technologies, such as RNA-seq and genetic engineering/gene modification, is highly preferred.
  • In Vivo and Animal Model Experience
    • Hands-on experience with in vivo animal studies, including mice, rats, and non-human primates (e.g., cynomolgus monkeys), is highly preferred.
    • Demonstrated ability to think critically, identify appropriate animal disease models, and develop or apply specialized models to effectively recapitulate clinically relevant features of human diseases.
  • Histology and Pathology
    • Basic knowledge and practical experience in tissue processing workflows.
    • Experience with tissue fixation, dehydration, embedding, frozen and paraffin sectioning, hard-tissue sectioning, histological staining, immunohistochemistry (IHC), and in situ hybridization (ISH) is highly preferred.
  • Data Management and Research Compliance
    • Strong and consistent experimental documentation practices, with the ability to conduct experiments according to SOPs and accurately maintain and organize raw data.
    • Good understanding of research compliance, data integrity, and data traceability requirements.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and statistical analysis software for data analysis and interpretation, with the ability to complete experimental reports accurately and on schedule.

    • Strong English reading, listening, and writing skills, with the ability to independently search and interpret scientific literature and prepare experimental reports in English.
    • Strong verbal communication skills in English are highly preferred.
  • Work Ethics and Professional Qualifications
    • Detail-oriented, conscientious, and highly execution-oriented, with the ability to work effectively under pressure.
    • Strong interest in innovative drug discovery and development or biomedical research, with a commitment to pursuing a long-term career in R&D.

    • 组织学和病理学基础:了解和熟悉组织样本处理流程,并掌握各种组织处理包括组织固定、脱水、包埋、冰冻和石蜡及硬组织切片、组织染色或免疫组织化学(IHC)和原位杂交分析等实验者优先。
    • 数据记录与科研规范:具备良好的实验记录习惯,能够按照SOP规范完成实验操作及原始数据整理,理解科研合规与数据可追溯性要求。熟练运用Microsoft办公软件及统计分析软件分析实验结果,按期完成实验报告。
  4. 其他能力:
    • 团队管理能力:具备研发团队管理经验,拥有良好的团队领导和跨团队协作能力
    • 学习和解决问题能力:具备良好的学习能力与责任心,能够独立高效完成实验任务;心态稳定,科学理论基础扎实,能发现和解决科学和实验中出现的问题。
    • 英文能力要求:具有较好的英文听读和写作能力,独立查询英文文献,撰写英文实验报告。具备良好的英语口语沟通能力者优先。
    • 工作态度与职业素养:工作认真细致,执行力强,具备一定抗压能力;对创新药研发或生物医药研究具有浓厚兴趣,愿意长期在研发方向发展。
