Some of your work will be hands-on at our hardware lab in the Dogpatch neighborhood of San Francisco, but our work culture is remote-friendly. Some travel may also be required to work with teammates and vendors in other locations, mostly in the US and Asia.
Responsibilities
- Own firmware and device driver development for a new Linux-based personal computing device plus associated peripherals, from early prototypes through production.
- Redefine the bar for security, reliability, and performance across embedded software.
- Contribute to component evaluation and selection.
- Collaborate with electrical engineers, mechanical engineers, security engineers, and other software engineers to integrate components into a cohesive product.
Requirements
- Minimum of 4 years experience in embedded software development.
- End-to-end embedded software development experience, from bring-up of initial prototypes to high-volume production.
- Strong, demonstrable coding skills in C.
- Deep understanding of developing software for resource-constrained environments.
- Experience with standard bus interfaces: I2C, SPI, etc.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and technical leadership skills.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with Zephyr RTOS.
- Experience with driver development for consumer peripherals like cameras, displays, wireless chips, etc.

Annual Base Salary Range
$175,000 - $275,000/year depending on experience
