About the Role

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a highly established and respected single-family office. 

As a Client Advisor Assistant (CAA) you will support our Client Advisors (CA) in delivering personal advice and guidance on legal, tax, estate planning and related matters to our family member clients.

Based in Central London, you will join a small and welcoming team of about 15 people, who all go above and beyond to ensure that our family member clients are supported throughout key stages of their lives and that their best interests are maintained at all times. The role includes independently handling client requests and defined tasks by Client Advisors. 

Responsibilities

  • Independently handling defined tasks within the Client Advisory team, mainly in the areas of personal, legal, tax and estate planning advice
  • Corresponding and liaising directly with clients and acting as a back-up for the CA in the event of their absence
  • Planning and arranging client meetings, to include coordinating input from various colleagues and ensuring that documentation for the meeting is prepared and circulated to clients in a timely fashion.
  • Preparing client materials in a user-friendly, professional format, consistent with our house style.
  • Carrying out research and preparing initial drafts of advice for CAs.
  • Cash monitoring and planning. Overall day to day responsibility for the review, monitoring and processing of internal and external transfers/payment requests.
  • Liaising with clients’ investment advisors and other external advisors, as required.
  • Updating key client information in in-house systems and proactively ensuring that the data is complete.
  • Assisting with client due diligence, to assist clients in their dealings with banks or other institutions.
  • Implementing common transactions such as gifts between family member clients by following established internal procedures.
  • Contributing to client communications such as mailings and newsletters
  • Actively participating in the community of Client Advisor Assistants across the organisation (including our international offices).

Requirements

  • 3 – 5 years experience in a similar role in either a family office, financial services, banking, tax or legal environment. Experience in an international environment is an advantage.
  • A university-degree-level qualification, or equivalent practical experience, preferably in banking, and/or legal
  • Fluent in English (spoken and written)..
  • Excellent analytical and numerical skills.
  • Thorough attention to detail.
  • Advanced PowerPoint, Excel and Word skills.
  • Sufficient IT-reporting skills to develop a working knowledge of the key client financial reporting data and relevant software.
  • A curiosity to develop an understanding of key legal concepts (e.g. those relating to basic estate planning and relevant legal structures, such as trusts and foundations).
  • The ability to plan and organise own work and work independently to manage tasks, actions and deadlines.
  • Outcome-focused and uses common sense to work effectively when confronted with ambiguity.
  • Good interpersonal skills for successful interaction with clients, individuals and groups inside and outside the organisation.
  • A strong client focus and service orientation.
  • Good team-working skills.
  • Solid influencing skills to ensure that deliverables from other parties are on time and of the right quality.
