Occupational Therapist (OT) | K–6 | Delaware

AnthroMed Education is seeking a full-time Occupational Therapist (OT) to provide short-term FMLA coverage for students in Kindergarten through 6th grade in a supportive school district from January 11, 2027 through February 9, 2027 in Odessa, DE.

This is a great opportunity for an OT who enjoys working in a collaborative school environment and supporting students with a variety of functional, sensory, and communication needs. The selected OT will support students across two nearby elementary school buildings, with an established schedule and student notes available to help ensure a smooth transition into the role.

Position Details

• Grade Levels: K–6th grade

• Schedule: Full-time, 35 hours per week

• Dates: January 11, 2027 – February 9, 2027

• Caseload: Approximately 35 students

• Buildings: Two nearby elementary school buildings

• Salary: $60,000–$75,000 annualized

• Hourly Equivalent: $48.70–$60.88/hour

• Office Space: Shared

About the Opportunity

You'll provide occupational therapy services to students across two elementary school buildings, helping students develop the functional skills they need to access and participate in their educational programs.

The caseload is blended, with exposure to students with a range of needs, including students who require more significant support. The OT should be comfortable addressing sensory needs, behaviors, proprioceptive input, AAC, and functional participation while collaborating with a multidisciplinary school team.

Because this is an FMLA coverage position, you'll step into an established role with a schedule already in place, along with student notes and information to review prior to providing services.

What You'll Do

• Provide occupational therapy services to K–6th grade students based on individual needs and IEP goals

• Support students' ability to access and participate in the curriculum and school environment

• Address fine motor, sensory, motor, and functional needs

• Provide sensory strategies and proprioceptive input as appropriate

• Support students who may demonstrate challenging behaviors

• Implement and support AAC as part of students' communication and participation needs

• Collaborate with teachers, special education staff, SLPs, and other related service providers

• Participate as an active member of the multidisciplinary team

• Maintain accurate documentation and student records

• Review existing schedules and student notes to ensure continuity of services throughout the leave coverage

What We're Looking For

• Master's degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program

• Valid Delaware OT license

• School-based experience preferred

• Comfortable working with students across K–6th grade

• Experience or comfort with sensory needs, behaviors, proprioceptive input, and AAC

• Strong communication and collaboration skills

• Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team
