AI Productivity Lead, Communications

New York City, NY; San Francisco, CA; Seattle, WA

About Anthropic

Anthropic’s mission is to create reliable, interpretable, and steerable AI systems. We want AI to be safe and beneficial for our users and for society as a whole. Our team is a quickly growing group of committed researchers, engineers, policy experts, and business leaders working together to build beneficial AI systems.

About the Role

Anthropic is seeking an exceptional AI Solutions Architect to build intelligent systems that amplify the effectiveness of our Communications team. In this role, you will identify workflow opportunities across the team, develop Claude-powered solutions in partnership with our engineering organization, train Comms team members to use those tools confidently, and document improvements so the knowledge can scale to other teams across Anthropic.

This position, part of the Communications Strategy & Operations function, sits at the intersection of communications strategy, operations, and AI innovation. You will build infrastructure that enables our Comms team to move faster and operate at the scale that a frontier AI company demands — from how we track coverage and sentiment to how we manage rapid-response situations and cross-functional messaging coordination. This is also a chance to help define a model for AI-powered productivity that other functions at Anthropic can learn from and replicate.

How You Will Work

This role is organized around four core pillars:

  • Discover: Identify automation and improvement opportunities
    • Conduct ongoing workflow audits across the Communications team to surface repetitive, manual, or time-consuming processes that are strong candidates for automation or AI assistance
    • Build relationships with Comms team members at all levels to understand pain points, gather requirements, and prioritize opportunities based on impact and feasibility
    • Stay current on Claude capabilities and emerging AI tooling to proactively identify new use cases the team may not yet know are possible
  • Build: Develop Claude-powered solutions
    • Lead the development of Claude-powered productivity tooling for communications workflows, including media monitoring, press clip curation, coverage tracking, briefing generation, and rapid-response support
    • Partner closely with Anthropic’s engineering team to design, build, and deploy solutions, translating communications requirements into technical specifications and working collaboratively through implementation
    • Partner cross-functionally with Communications leadership, Policy, Legal, Marketing, and Engineering to establish feedback loops that continuously improve tooling effectiveness and communications operations
  • Train: Enable the team to use tools effectively
    • Develop and deliver training programs that help Comms team members understand, adopt, and get the most out of new AI-powered tools, regardless of their technical background
    • Create clear, accessible documentation and how-to guides for every tool and workflow improvement you ship
    • Serve as an internal resource and first point of contact when team members have questions or encounter friction with new systems
    • Champion a culture of experimentation on the Comms team, helping colleagues feel confident testing and iterating with AI tools in their own work
  • Catalogue: Document and share learnings across Anthropic
    • Maintain a living knowledge base of all workflow improvements, automations, and tools built for the Communications team — including what was built, why, and what impact it has had
    • Establish KPIs and success metrics to measure the impact of each automation on team throughput, response times, and communications outcomes
    • Package learnings in formats that other teams across Anthropic can easily understand and apply, contributing to a company-wide library of AI productivity best practices
    • Regularly present progress, insights, and recommendations to Communications and cross-functional leadership, clearly articulating business value and lessons learned

You may be a good fit if you have

  • 5+ years of engineering or technical product experience, including building data-driven productivity solutions with AI or automation
  • Proven track record of developing and deploying automations focused on content and/or knowledge management, operations processes, or communications systems
  • Experience building scalable systems in fast-paced, high-information-volume environments
  • Ability to translate complex communications requirements into technical solutions and work effectively with both non-technical colleagues and engineering stakeholders
  • A genuine instinct for documentation and knowledge sharing – you think about how to make your work reproducible and learnable by others
  • Excellence in program management with demonstrated ability to build initiatives from the ground up in ambiguous, fast-paced environments
  • Genuine curiosity about AI and enthusiasm for using Claude and other LLM technologies to solve real operational problems

Strong candidates may also have

  • Understanding of communications workflows: how PR and comms teams manage campaigns, media relations, coverage tracking, executive briefings, and rapid response
  • Experience with sentiment analysis, natural language processing, or media intelligence tooling
  • Background in analytics or data visualization
  • Experience developing training materials or running enablement programs for non-technical teams
  • Experience at a high-growth technology company navigating fast-moving news cycles

Representative Projects

  • Build a daily press clips digest system that monitors dozens of sources, filters for relevance, categorizes coverage by topic and sentiment, and delivers a formatted briefing to the team via Slack each morning
  • Create a Claude-powered briefing generator that synthesizes background materials, recent coverage, and key messages into spokesperson prep documents ahead of media engagements
  • Implement a rapid-response monitoring system with configurable alerts that notifies the right Comms team members the moment a high-priority story breaks
  • Design an internal communications workflow tool that streamlines drafting, review, and distribution of all-hands content, FAQs, and leadership messages
  • Build a message pull-through tracker that analyzes earned media coverage to measure how accurately Anthropic’s key narratives are being reflected in press output
  • Produce a replicable “Comms Automation Playbook” documenting tools, workflows, and outcomes that other Anthropic teams can adapt for their own productivity programs

How we're different

We believe that the highest-impact AI research will be big science. At Anthropic we work as a single cohesive team on just a few large-scale research efforts. And we value impact — advancing our long-term goals of steerable, trustworthy AI — rather than work on smaller and more specific puzzles. We view AI research as an empirical science, which has as much in common with physics and biology as with traditional efforts in computer science. We're an extremely collaborative group, and we host frequent research discussions to ensure that we are pursuing the highest-impact work at any given time. As such, we greatly value communication skills.

The easiest way to understand our research directions is to read our recent research. This research continues many of the directions our team worked on prior to Anthropic, including: GPT-3, Circuit-Based Interpretability, Multimodal Neurons, Scaling Laws, AI & Compute, Concrete Problems in AI Safety, and Learning from Human Preferences.

Come work with us!

Anthropic is a public benefit corporation headquartered in San Francisco. We offer competitive compensation and benefits, optional equity donation matching, generous vacation and parental leave, flexible working hours, and a lovely office space in which to collaborate with colleagues. As a government contractor subject to the Vietnam Era Veterans Readjustment Assistance Act (VEVRAA), we request this information in order to measure the effectiveness of the outreach and positive recruitment efforts we undertake pursuant to VEVRAA. Classification of protected categories is as follows:

A "disabled veteran" is one of the following: a veteran of the U.S. military, ground, naval or air service who is entitled to compensation (or who but for the receipt of military retired pay would be entitled to compensation) under laws administered by the Secretary of Veterans Affairs; or a person who was discharged or released from active duty because of a service-connected disability.

Why are you being asked to complete this form?

We are a federal contractor or subcontractor. The law requires us to provide equal employment opportunity to qualified people with disabilities. We have a goal of having at least 7% of our workers as people with disabilities. The law says we must measure our progress towards this goal. To do this, we must ask applicants and employees if they have a disability or have ever had one. People can become disabled, so we need to ask this question at least every five years.

Completing this form is voluntary, and we hope that you will choose to do so. Your answer is confidential. No one who makes hiring decisions will see it. Your decision to complete the form and your answer will not harm you in any way. If you want to learn more about the law or this form, visit the U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) website at www.dol.gov/ofccp.
