Real Estate Occupancy Planner
About Anthropic
Anthropic’s mission is to create reliable, interpretable, and steerable AI systems. We want AI to be safe and beneficial for our users and for society as a whole. Our team is a quickly growing group of committed researchers, engineers, policy experts, and business leaders working together to build beneficial AI systems.
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Real Estate Occupancy Planner to join Anthropic's Workplace and Real Estate team. This role is the DRI for office move management, space restacking, neighborhood planning and key stakeholder engagement across our global portfolio. The ideal candidate brings a rigorous, data-driven approach to occupancy planning, excels at stakeholder collaboration, and is passionate about using technology and analytics to inform smarter space decisions. This individual contributor role will directly shape how Anthropic plans, assigns, and optimizes its physical workspace as we continue to scale.
Responsibilities:

• Analyze utilization data, badge access trends, and reservation patterns to identify optimization opportunities
• Build forward-looking capacity forecasts aligned to hiring plans and portfolio lease events
• Synthesize data from multiple sources to produce clear, defensible recommendations on space allocation and density
OfficeSpace Platform Ownership

• Own end-to-end move project management: planning, sequencing, stakeholder communication, and execution
• Partner with Space Captains within each business unit to plan and assign departmental neighborhoods
• Develop and maintain detailed move plans, seating assignments, and restack timelines
• Coordinate cross-functionally with IT, Facilities, Security, and HR to ensure seamless transitions
• Conduct post-move reviews to capture lessons learned and drive continuous improvement
Stakeholder Collaboration & Communication
• Build strong relationships with Space Captains across business units to ensure neighborhood planning reflects team needs
• Serve as a trusted advisor to team leads on space allocation, growth planning, and workplace norms
• Create executive-level reporting and communications on occupancy performance and capacity outlook
• Proactively surface space constraints, risks, and opportunities to the Head of Workplace and Real Estate
You May Be a Good Fit If You:
• Have 5–8 years of experience in occupancy planning, space management, corporate real estate, or a related workplace function

• Are proficient with space management or IWMS platforms, preferably OfficeSpace (Archibus, Serraview, or similar)
• Bring a strong analytical mindset and comfort working with occupancy data, utilization metrics, and headcount models to clearly articulate strategy to stakeholders
• Have experience partnering with Finance or People Analytics teams on workforce and capacity planning
• Are skilled at managing multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced, high-growth environment
• Communicate clearly and confidently with both operational teams and senior leadership

How we're different
We believe that the highest-impact AI research will be big science. At Anthropic we work as a single cohesive team on just a few large-scale research efforts. And we value impact — advancing our long-term goals of steerable, trustworthy AI — rather than work on smaller and more specific puzzles. We view AI research as an empirical science, which has as much in common with physics and biology as with traditional efforts in computer science. We're an extremely collaborative group, and we host frequent research discussions to ensure that we are pursuing the highest-impact work at any given time. As such, we greatly value communication skills.
The easiest way to understand our research directions is to read our recent research. This research continues many of the directions our team worked on prior to Anthropic, including: GPT-3, Circuit-Based Interpretability, Multimodal Neurons, Scaling Laws, AI & Compute, Concrete Problems in AI Safety, and Learning from Human Preferences.
