What you are getting up to:
As the Sales Director - DACH (f/m/d), you will be at the forefront of Apaleo's expansion in the DACH region, with a primary focus on acquiring and closing strategic and mid-market accounts. Your role will involve shaping and executing the sales strategy, managing the growth of key segments and target accounts, and ensuring quota attainment across your territory. This is a hands-on leadership role where you will be directly responsible for sales results, pipeline management, and fostering team development.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership & Territory Growth:
- Lead the growth of Apaleo’s presence in the DACH region, with an emphasis on acquiring strategic and mid-market accounts, aligning territory plans with company goals.
- Foster collaboration across marketing, platform success, product, and senior leadership teams to align on market-specific strategies and messaging.
- Leverage sales tools (e.g., LinkedIn, HubSpot, Modjo) to enhance engagement, monitor pipeline activity, and ensure data-driven decision-making.
- Stay informed about market trends, competitive landscapes, and customer challenges to adjust strategies proactively and maintain a competitive edge.
Full-Cycle Management of Strategic & Mid-Market Accounts:
- Own and execute the full-cycle sales process for strategic and mid-market accounts, from prospecting and qualification to solution presentation, negotiation, and closing.
- Build and maintain trusted multi-threaded relationships with target accounts to drive long-term growth and retention in high-potential segments.
- Foster collaboration with Apaleo’s partner ecosystem to co-sell and deliver solutions that enhance customer value and streamline implementation efforts.
Team Leadership & Development:
- Lead and inspire a high-performing sales team, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Oversee the team’s efforts in outbound prospecting, pipeline development, and achieving quota goals, ensuring alignment with overall territory objectives.
- Play a pivotal role in critical deal management, providing hands-on leadership to close high-value opportunities.
- Participate in hiring efforts to build a diverse team while conducting regular coaching and training sessions to elevate sales effectiveness.
Role requirements:
- Proven track record of closing high-value strategic and mid-market deals in SaaS or enterprise software, with 5+ years in quota-carrying roles.
- Demonstrated success in building and managing complex, consultative sales processes and achieving or exceeding revenue targets.
- Ability to engage with C-level executives and key decision-makers capable of building and maintaining trusted relationships with target accounts.
- Leadership experience with a focus on coaching and developing sales teams to drive exceptional performance.
- Expertise in territory management, pipeline optimization, and leveraging sales tools to drive results.
- Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, hospitality, or a related field; advanced education is a plus.
- Outstanding written and verbal prowess in both German(native level or C2) and English(C1 level), setting the stage for unparalleled communication.
- Familiarity with the hospitality industry or experience selling to accommodation providers is an advantage.
