Events and Ministry Coordinator (Onsite, Volunteer)

This is not a paid position. The role is compensated by living Onsite at the community with discounted rent. Coordinators with children or minor dependents living at home are not eligible to serve due to age or life stage restrictions.

The Events and Ministry Coordinator will be responsible for excellence in executing the service plan of Apartment Life. Specifically, they work with their Apartment Life supervisor to prepare a monthly schedule to serve through events and programming in order to meet the needs of each community. Programming can include hosting events and resident activities for Senior Adults (55+), welcoming new residents and acts of care. This role internally will be called Coordinator of Senior Adult Services.

 

Important Details:

  1. We have 1 Senior Adult location in the Phoenix area available now in Lewisville, TX.

  2. The coordinator will live Onsite at the community and serve for 7-9 hours per week. 

  3. Many of our Senior Adult communities require some day time/weekday hours.

  4. The role is compensated with discounted rent. It is not a paid position.

  5. This community is a 55+ ADULTS ONLY community and while the coordinator does NOT have to be in this age group, the preference is that they be in a similar stage of life with a heart to connect and serve this demographic. They cannot have minors under the age of 35 years old listed as occupants.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Work with Lifestyle and Engagement coordinator to host 1 event each month for the residents in the apartment community with the purpose of caring for and connecting with residents, connecting residents to one another and to services or local businesses in the wider community

  2. Provide a caring touch to residents and staff with the help of other residents and a network of community support

  3. Enhance online reputation by inviting residents to share online about their experience in the community.

  4. Prepare monthly summaries

  5. Meet with staff and program director for planning, equipping, and development

  6. Engage a support team of volunteers, vendors, and other community partners to maximize impact

  7. Visit new residents shortly after they move-in and/or residents who are near the end of their lease to connect with them

 

Required Qualifications

  1. Must be 18 years of age or older.

  2. Be legally eligible to work in the United States

  3. Have basic fluency in English to compose marketing elements for the community and required reports for the property management company

  4. Possess a current driver's license and liability insurance, and access to a form of reliable transportation to complete coordinator duties such as shopping for events and connecting with vendors

  5. Be physically able to use stairs, bend, sit, stand, stoop, and carry up to 25 pounds

  6. Have the availability to commit weekly hours to perform job responsibilities, mainly in the evenings and weekends when most residents are home

  7. Be able to make the minimum term commitment to serving in the apartment community

 

Preferred Qualifications

  1. Previous event planning experience

  2. Experience working within a budget

  3. Some relevant experience using social media

  4. Have a network of support through potential volunteers, vendors, or community partners
