SEO Manager

As the Manager of SEO you will be responsible for driving our SEO strategy across our core business and new businesses. You will report to the VP of Growth partnering closely with Product, Engineering, Analytics and Design partners focused on Growth. Your insights acquired through data and ability to educate and partner closely with other teams will make you successful.

Here’s what you’ll do:

  • Consistently analyze and monitor performance, identifying trends, and developing data-driven insights to guide decision-making and strategy adjustments
  • Provide regular updates, reporting, and presentations with the broader team and serve as the resident expert in all things SEO
  • Conduct in-depth keyword research, analysis, and selection to identify opportunities for content optimization and collaborate with SEM lead to target high-converting traffic from paid and organic search
  • Perform competitive analysis to identify industry trends, monitor competitor strategies, and recommend actionable insights to maintain a competitive advantage
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop & implement SEO framework to ensure consistency
  • Partner with the R&D team to improve on-page SEO and conversion
  • Run SEO like a 1-person start-up: perform competitive analysis, technical audits, keyword research, to continually identify trends, surface actionable insights to partners and incorporate them in your strategy

Here are the skills and experience you’ll need to be successful:

  • Proven experience leading SEO, with a strong track record of successfully implementing SEO strategies and achieving measurable results
  • A proven ability to tie together off-page SEO and technical SEO to the core content strategy.
  • Ability to strategically set goals and priorities
  • Strong analytical skills, a test and learn mentality, with an appreciation for statistics
  • Proficiency in SEO tools, such as Google Analytics, Google Search Console, SEMrush, Moz, Ahrefs, or similar platforms
  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret data, draw actionable insights, and make data-driven recommendations.
  • Experience with website analysis, keyword research, and competitive analysis tools.
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities and comfort with ambiguity
  • An insatiable eagerness to learn and push the boundaries of what is possible
  • A passion for helping renters find homes, marketplaces and/or real estate tech is a plus
Here's the Pay Range:
 
At Apartment List, we carefully consider a variety of factors to determine compensation for each position, including the role, level, and work. The US base salary range for this position is:
  • Zone 1: $139,000 - $168,000 TTC (including $125,000 - $151,000 base salary) + equity
  • Zone 2: $128,000 - $155,000 TTC (including $115,000 - $140,000 base salary) + equity
  • Zone 3: $118,000 - $143,000 TTC (including $106,000 - $129,000 base salary) + equity
** TTC = Total Target Compensation
 
This reflects the compensation target for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations. Please note, the compensation details provided do not include benefits and perks that we offer.
 
We also rely on market indicators along with considering your work location, job related skills, experience and relevant education and training, to determine compensation that is fair and competitive for you. Apartment List will consider paying compensation near the higher of the range in exceptional circumstances, where candidates have the experience, credentials or expertise that would warrant such consideration. It is always our goal to hire exceptional talent and we would be happy to share more about compensation during the hiring process.
