About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Technical Writer to join our dynamic team. Working in our Vancouver office, you will play a pivotal role in creating and maintaining comprehensive technical software documentation and user manuals for the Apera Vue vision system software. You will collaborate closely with our engineering team to uncover, refine, and produce clear, consistent, and high-quality materials that support our cutting-edge computer vision and robotics software products.  Your portfolio should showcase your ability to create product-focused documentation that effectively communicates complex concepts to diverse audiences, including developers, engineers, and end-users.

 

Responsibilities

  • Develop, update, and maintain high-quality technical documentation, including user manuals, FAQs, and application notes for the Apera Vue vision system software
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams in-office to locate, review, and standardize existing documentation.
  • Create clear tutorials, instructional content, and diagrams that support user understanding and product adoption.
  • Ensure accuracy, consistency, and alignment with brand standards in all documentation.
  • Maintain up-to-date documentation in response to product updates and feature enhancements.
  • Research and implement best practices for technical communication and content organization.
  • Assist in developing internal knowledge bases and team training materials.

 

Qualifications

Required:

  • Proven experience (3+ years) as a Technical Writer in a technology-driven environment.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to explain complex technical concepts clearly and effectively.
  • Experience with technical writing tools and platforms, such as MadCap Flare, ReadTheDocs, Sphinx, MkDocs, Adobe FrameMaker
  • Familiarity with AI, computer vision, or robotics concepts.
  • Strong organizational skills and keen attention to detail.

Preferred:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Technical Communication, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Knowledge of version control systems like Git.
  • Graphic design skills for creating visual aids and diagrams.

Portfolio Requirement

Please provide a portfolio of work that demonstrates your ability to document technical products. Your portfolio should include examples that highlight product-focused documentation, tutorials, and any related materials.
