Are you a strategic and hands-on financial leader looking to make a real impact? Apera AI is seeking an entrepreneurial Financial Controller to oversee day-to-day financial operations and help drive organizational excellence in a rapidly growing AI company. In this role, you’ll be more than just a numbers person—you’ll be a key partner in shaping the company’s financial strategy and future trajectory.
What You’ll Do:
- Running day-to-day operations, including AR, AP, payroll, cash management.
- Manage financial month-end close process and prepare related working papers.
- Oversee the order to cash cycle with customers.
- Preparation of semi-monthly payroll.
- Review and supervision of all Accounts Payable, including procurement.
- Oversee inventory management, including relationship with 3rd party logistics partner.
- Manage various treasury activities such as cash management, investments, loans.
- Establish best practices in business processes, procedures, and internal controls.
- Assist in the development of accounting and company policies.
- Continuous process improvement on recent NetSuite and Hubspot implementations.
- Oversee company-wide spend management platform Brex, including credit card and travel to ensure compliance with company policies.
- Facilitate financial reviews, tax reporting, and future audits by external CPA firms.
- Monthly, quarterly, and annual filings with various governmental agencies.
- Preparation of monthly forecast and board package.
- Be an effective business partner for the Sales, Support, Customer Success, and Engineering organization.
- Assist in quarterly and annual revenue forecasting and budgeting.
Basic qualifications
- 5+ years of experience, preference for experience in the tech industry.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree Commerce, administration, or similar.
- CPA designation.
- Netsuite and Hubspot experience are assets.
- Preference for candidates with inventory and SaaS accounting experience.
- Work environment: in-office.
- Must be proficient with Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
- Proven ability to build and grow partner relationships with stakeholders

In compliance with the British Columbia Pay Transparency Act, the base salary range for this role is between $120,000-$150,000 CAD in British Columbia. This range is not inclusive of our equity package. When determining a candidate’s compensation, we consider a number of factors including skillset, experience, job scope, and current market data.
