Your Role
As a Senior Manufacturing Engineer Manager you will be responsible for leading, building and mentoring our manufacturing engineering team. This role requires a dynamic leader who can drive innovation, optimize processes, and ensure the highest quality standards in production operations. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of manufacturing systems, electro-mechanical systems, continuous improvement methodologies, and team leadership in a fast-paced production environment and expertise in high-volume manufacturing. This role reports directly to the COO and is located in our Hayward office.
Your Responsibilities
- Lead, mentor, and develop a high performing team of manufacturing engineers and technicians by fostering a culture of innovation, accountability and professional growth.
- Develop and execute the manufacturing engineering strategy to ensure alignment with the company’s business goals by leading cross-functional collaboration to implement advanced manufacturing technologies and methodologies.
- Continuously establish, monitor and improve KPIs for manufacturing efficiency (yield and throughput), quality, and cost.
- Oversee the design, implementation and the optimization of manufacturing processes to ensure continuous improvement of yield, throughout, cost & quality.
- Drive continuous process improvement initiatives by leveraging Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and/or similar methodologies, identify floor problems and ensure effective troubleshooting.
- Manage large scale engineering projects, including new product introductions, packaging, ECO’s, minor print updates and facility upgrades when needed
- Regularly ensure all manufacturing processes comply with industry, company policies and ISO 9001 standards.
- Collaborate with R&D and product design teams to ensure manufacturing and scalability of new products.
- Continuously manage processes at our key suppliers, and manage high volume suppliers of electronics & mechanical items.
Skills/Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Industrial, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering (or similar) degree required.
- Strong Leadership skills and experience building high performing teams in fast paced work environments.
- 10+ years of experience in high-volume, low-mix production processes in the Electro-mechanical, Automotive, Aerospace or Medical industries.
- High acuity/aptitude for Electro-mechanical systems.
- Proven expertise in Lean Manufacturing, Six SIgma, or other process improvement methodologies (certifications are a plus).
- Strong project management skills with the ability to manage complex engineering projects
- In-depth knowledge of industry, ISO 9001 standards, regulatory requirements, and best practices.
- Ability to interpret and review technical drawings and schematics, Familiarity with CAD/CAM softwares, ERP system, and automation technologies..
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, preferably demonstrated by previous leadership roles.
- Experience managing, mentoring and building teams.
- Experience with high volume electronics and mechanical supplier
- This role might require travel up to 10% of the time.
Pay Range: $150,000 - $180,000
*Base salary only. Salary is dependent on multiple factors including, but not limited to, experience and location.
