 Position Overview

Apex Skin is a physician-led and rapidly growing dermatology practice committed to clinical excellence, community impact, and strategic growth. The Community Engagement & Business Development Coordinator plays a dual role in strengthening Apex Skin’s presence in the community while supporting business development initiatives that drive sustainable growth.

This position is responsible for building and nurturing relationships with community organizations, local stakeholders, and business partners. The role includes planning and executing outreach initiatives, identifying growth opportunities, coordinating events, and supporting partnership development efforts to enhance Apex Skin’s visibility and reputation.

Essential Functions:

  • Community Outreach & Engagement
    • Build and maintain strong relationships with community organizations, local businesses, schools, and residents
    • Plan, organize, and execute community events, workshops, and meetings to increase public engagement and brand awareness
    • Serve as a primary point of contact for community members, responding to inquiries and promoting Apex Skin’s mission and services
    • Collaborate with local organizations to identify and develop community-based projects and partnership opportunities
  • Business Development & Client Outreach
    • Research and identify potential business opportunities, target industries, and prospective partners
    • Initiate outreach to potential clients through phone, email, networking events, and strategic engagement
    • Support the planning and coordination of business development events, trade shows, and networking opportunities
    • Assist in tracking and reporting business development metrics and engagement outcomes
  • Partnership & Relationship Management
    • Cultivate and manage relationships with community partners and business clients to strengthen collaboration and long-term engagement
    • Assist in identifying and developing strategic partnerships that align with Apex Skin’s growth and community impact objectives
    • Monitor the progress of outreach and development activities and provide regular updates on performance metrics and key initiatives
  • Event Planning & Coordination
    • Oversee event logistics, vendor coordination, and on-site execution for both community and business development initiatives
    • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure events align with organizational goals, branding standards, and operational expectations
    • Ensure timely follow-up and documentation of event outcomes and partnership engagement

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Communications, Marketing, or a related field
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build relationships across diverse groups
  • Strong research, organizational, and project management abilities
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and social media platforms
  • Demonstrated networking and relationship-building capabilities
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet established deadlines
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and follow-through skills
  • Self-motivated, proactive, and goal-oriented
  • Experience in healthcare, community engagement, or business development is preferred

Physical Requirements & Work Environment

  • Prolonged periods of sitting, standing, walking, and attending community or networking events
  • Frequent use of hands and fingers for typing, documentation, phone communication, and event coordination
  • Ability to speak and hear clearly when engaging with community members, partners, and internal stakeholders
  • Visual acuity sufficient to read reports, presentations, and digital materials
  • Ability to occasionally lift or transport event materials or supplies up to 20 pounds
  • Work is performed in a professional corporate office environment with frequent off-site travel to community events, business meetings, and networking functions
  • Requires professionalism, adaptability, and composure when representing Apex Skin in public settings
  • Must maintain confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA, OSHA, and Apex Skin privacy and safety standards

Employee Health & Safety Requirements:
All patient-facing employees are required to provide proof of a TB test within the past 12 months and an annual flu vaccination as part of Apex Skin’s employee health and safety protocols. The Hepatitis B vaccination series is also strongly recommended for clinical staff due to potential occupational exposure risks.
