Job Title: Estimator – Security Division

Location: APG, Clearwater, FL

Job Summary:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Estimator to join our Security Division. The Estimator will be responsible for preparing accurate, competitive, and profitable cost estimates for electronic security systems and solutions, including access control, CCTV, intrusion detection, intercom, and integrated systems. This role plays a key part in supporting our sales and operations teams by ensuring each project is scoped accurately and in accordance with client specifications.

Key Responsibilities:

• Analyze project plans, specifications, and requirements to prepare detailed cost estimates.
• Perform takeoffs and generate materials lists for electronic security systems.
• Collaborate with sales, engineering, and project management teams to develop comprehensive bids and proposals.
• Source and evaluate vendor quotes for equipment and subcontracted services.
• Develop labor and material pricing models using internal and external data.
• Ensure bids are competitive, accurate, and submitted on time.
• Attend pre-bid meetings, site visits, and client consultations as needed.
• Maintain current knowledge of industry standards, technologies, and best practices.
• Maintain and update estimating tools, templates, and historical cost data.
• Support post-bid reviews and transition awarded projects to the operations team.

Qualifications:

• Experience: 3+ years of estimating experience in the security industry or a related field (low-voltage, electrical, telecom).
• Must be: FASA/BASA certified, Additional BICSI certification preferred
• Ability to: Create accurate Take-Off’s and spreadsheets
• Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of security systems (CCTV, access control, intrusion, etc.). Familiar with Security and building access components and assemblies, Familiar with design and installation of security and building access components and assemblies. Ability to comprehend specifications and scopes.
• Software Proficiency: Experience with estimating software (e.g., Bluebeam, Accubid, or equivalent), MS Excel, and CRM tools.
• Certifications (Preferred): NICET, PSP, or relevant manufacturer certifications.
• Other Skills: Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills. Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to visit job sites and conduct site assessments as needed.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
