Position Summary
The Life Safety Service Technician will be responsible for servicing, inspecting, testing, and maintaining life safety systems such as fire alarms, sprinklers, emergency lighting, and other safety systems. The ideal candidate will have strong technical knowledge, excellent problem-solving skills, and a commitment to ensuring that all systems meet code compliance and provide maximum protection for building occupants.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine inspections, testing, and maintenance of fire alarm systems, fire extinguishers, emergency lighting, and other life safety equipment.
- Troubleshoot and diagnose faults or issues with life safety systems and provide timely repairs.
- Ensure all systems comply with local codes and regulations (NFPA, OSHA, etc.).
- Provide accurate and timely documentation of services rendered, including inspection reports and service records.
- Assist in system installations as needed.
- Work closely with clients to provide exceptional customer service and educate them on the functionality and maintenance of their life safety systems.
- Respond to emergency service calls in a timely manner.
- Maintain inventory of tools, parts, and equipment necessary to perform job functions.
Qualifications
- Proficient low voltage commercial electrician
- FASA/BASA and NICET 1 Certified
- Capable of reading blueprints and schematics
- Able to plan and lay out projects.
- Able to install conduit, wire, Fire Alarm and low voltage electrical devices and equipment
- Ability to pass background and Drug Screening.
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
- Strong knowledge of fire alarm, life safety systems, and building codes.
- Experience with testing, repairing, and troubleshooting fire alarm systems, sprinklers, and emergency lighting.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics.
- Strong communication skills and customer service orientation.
- Ability to work independently and manage time efficiently.
