Role Summary
We are seeking a VP, Device and Delivery Technologies. The candidate will lead a team that develops and executes Apogee’s device and delivery technology strategies for the portfolio, including device selection, manufacturing and commercialization. This role will report to the Senior Vice President of Development, Manufacturing, & Supply.
Key Responsibilities
- Builds, manages, and mentors a team responsible for the overall device strategy program including prefilled syringe, needle safety device, autoinjectors, on-body injectors and other delivery systems
- Surfaces, evaluates, and advances technology for delivery of high volume (>2 mL) and high concentration (>300 mg/mL) mAbs.
- Evaluates custom and innovative device design technologies
- Identifies, develops and oversees strategic partnerships with external device development and manufacturing companies.
- Responsible for defining, developing and executing Apogee’s device strategy across the portfolio.
- Develops and executes the company’s commercial and launch strategy
- Responsible for the development and oversight of timelines and budgets for device and delivery technologies programs and ensures appropriate priority of programs
- Works collaboratively with various internal departments including Business Development & Strategy and Clinical teams to ensure device strategies are consistent with clinical and commercial requirements
- Responsible for providing direction and leadership for a cross-functional team, including Quality Assurance and Regulatory, responsible for commercialization of combination products in accordance with global regulatory requirements.
- Works closely with the Technical Operations team including formulation, drug product development, and supply chain personnel to ensure appropriate implementation of device development and testing strategy
- Communicates effectively to internal stakeholders regarding progress and considerations for device strategy.
Ideal Candidate
- Masters or PhD Bachelor or higher degree in relevant discipline (e.g., biomedical engineering, mechanical engineering or relevant field)
- 20+ years of device development and manufacturing experience, including launch and commercialization experience
- Experience with delivery technologies including prefilled syringe, auto-injectors and on-body injectors for biologics
- Experience with global regulatory requirements, and development and oversight of combination product commercialization requirements
- Excellent communication skills with an ability to present to a variety of stakeholders and tailor message accordingly
- Leader with a growth mindset; comfortable in an environment that encourages creativity and an appropriate level of risk-taking
- Willing to learn from others, and dedication to promoting a psychologically safe environment
- Ability to multi-task and keep pace with a fast-moving organization
- Availability to participate in calls across multiple international time zones

- Ability and willingness to travel up to 25%, including frequently to Apogee-Boston
The anticipated salary range for candidates for this role will be $300K – $330K / year. The final salary offered will depend on several factors, which may include, but is not limited to relevant years of experience, educational background, and geography.
