Director, Scientific Communications
Role Summary
We are seeking a motivated and experienced Scientific Communications Director to serve as a Scientific Communications Lead for one or more of Apogee Therapeutics’ pipeline assets across the dermatology and respiratory therapeutic areas. The ideal candidate will have experience in Scientific Communications, including publications and medical communications material development. The ideal candidate will also display a strong scientific acumen, knowledge of publication strategy development, scientific writing skills, and project management fluency. The Scientific Communications Director will play a crucial role in managing the publication of preclinical and clinical scientific findings, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely dissemination.
Key Responsibilities
As the Director of Scientific Communications at Apogee Therapeutics, you will be responsible for shaping and executing a strategic scientific communications plan that drives impactful communication of Apogee Therapeutics’ data across the lifecycle of our assets. Key responsibilities include:
- Develop and lead a comprehensive scientific communication strategy for one or more Apogee pipeline products that aligns with Apogee's goals for product development.
- Develop, own, update, and socialize the scientific communication plan (including publications) for one or more Apogee products, ensuring alignment with product strategy.
- Lead publication planning activities for one or more Apogee products to ensure cohesive execution across teams.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to develop publication concepts, generate data, and perform statistical analyses to address identified gaps.
- Build and maintain external partnerships with Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs), societies, and congresses to support the successful development and dissemination of scientific content.
- Manage vendor relationships to ensure timely and effective project delivery.
- Stay informed on trends in scientific journals, congresses, and publication metrics to optimize the placement and impact of Apogee's research.
- Collaborate with internal and external researchers, scientists, and authors to ensure clear communication and understanding of publication goals, timelines, and requirements.
- Assist internal stakeholders with conference management activities, including coordination of logistics.
Ideal Candidate
- Advanced degree (Ph.D., M.D., Pharm.D., or equivalent)
- 5+ years in the pharmaceutical industry in Medical Affairs, specifically in a Scientific Communications and/or Publications role
- Experience in the dermatology, respiratory, or allergy therapeutic areas highly preferred.
- Experience in scientific publications management, including knowledge of conference abstract and poster and manuscript submission processes, peer review processes, and publications ethics.
- Strong understanding of scientific research methodologies, data analysis, and interpretation, for both clinical and preclinical data.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a keen eye for detail and accuracy in scientific writing and editing.
- Project management experience, with the ability to guide numerous projects simultaneously and plan proactively.
- Knowledge of relevant publication standards (e.g., ICMJE, GPP, and COPE guidelines).
- Strong organizational, project management, and budgeting skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

This position requires up to 20% travel including a minimum of 4 times per year for All Hands meetings
The anticipated salary range for candidates for this role will be $220,000-$240,0000 / year. The final salary offered will depend on several factors, which may include, but is not limited to relevant years of experience, educational background, and geography.
