Role Summary

We are seeking an Associate Director of Business Development & Strategy. As a member of the Business Development & Strategy team, you will be responsible for compiling and synthesizing competitive intelligence and using those insights to help shape our corporate strategy. In addition, you will be responsible for working cross-functionally to support Apogee’s programs and other business objectives. Contributing to business development efforts, this person will also execute strategic, scientific, and clinical analyses to support Apogee’s partnering objectives. This role will report to the Executive Director of Business Development & Strategy and will interface frequently with members of the leadership team.

Key Responsibilities 

  •  Track competitive intelligence and monitor industry trends
  • Attend key scientific and medical conferences
  • Collaborate with other functions to support Apogee’s programs and business objectives
  • Support the Leadership Team to help develop and communicate the corporate strategy
  • Execute strategic analyses on behalf of the Executive Team and Board of Directors
  • Identify and conduct due diligence on new targets and in-licensing opportunities
  • Support business development and partnering discussions

Ideal Candidate 

  • BS/BA degree in a scientific field or related discipline with Ph.D., MD, MD/PhD, or PharmD preferred
  • 2+ years’ experience in professional services with a demonstrated focus on healthcare and/or life sciences (e.g., management consulting, equity research, investment banking)
  • Excellent communication skills with an ability to present to a variety of stakeholders (e.g., executives, KOLs, and non-technical audiences) and tailor message accordingly
  • Highly collaborative with the ability to work cross-functionally with teams across the organization
  • Successfully exhibit Apogee’s C.O.R.E. values: Caring, Original, Resilient and Egoless
  • Clinical and scientific aptitude
  • Familiarity with the drug development process
  • Experience in inflammatory & immunological therapeutic areas preferred
  • Emerging leader with a growth mindset and willing to learn from others
  • Position requires up to 25% travel (US and international) 

The anticipated salary range for candidates for this role will be $170,000-$195,000/ year. The final salary offered will depend on several factors, which may include, but is not limited to relevant years of experience, educational background, and geography.
