Senior Research Associate, Preclinical and Clinical Biomarkers
Position Summary:
The Department of Research and Translational Medicine is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Research Associate/Senior RA, Preclinical and Clinical Biomarkers to support our growing research and development efforts. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in immunoassay development and qualification, with hands-on experience in ELISA and MSD-based assays. Experience handling and testing clinical patient samples, with a strong understanding of best practices for sample integrity and compliance. This role requires a collaborative team player who can interpret complex data sets, implement best practices, and maintain high standards of quality and documentation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and qualify immunoassays including ELISA and MSD platforms to support research and product development.
- Experience with assay automation preferred but not required.
- Analyze and interpret complex biological data sets with precision and scientific rigor.
- Apply best practices to minimize assay variability and ensure reproducibility.
- Maintain detailed and accurate records of experimental procedures and results in accordance with quality control standards.
- Maintain the inventory of samples and associated paperwork according to our operating procedures
- Assists with identifying needs and sourcing of reagents, samples, and other critical materials
- Collaborate cross-functionally with other scientists and departments to support project goals.
- Contribute to troubleshooting and optimization of assay protocols.
- Ensure compliance with internal SOPs and regulatory guidelines.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, or a related scientific discipline with 3–5 years of industry experience, or a Master’s degree with at least 2 years of relevant experience.
- Demonstrated expertise in immunoassay development and qualification, specifically ELISA and MSD.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and draw meaningful conclusions.
- Experience implementing quality control measures and maintaining scientific documentation.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability and willingness to travel including a minimum of 2 times per year for company-wide meeting
- Ability to work onsite up to 5 days per week in the Apogee lab located in Boston, MA
The anticipated salary range for candidates for this role will be $95,000- $110,000 per year. The final salary offered will depend on several factors, which may include, but is not limited to relevant years of experience, educational background, and geography.
