About You

We are looking for a Staff Developer to join the core Devs.AI team. This is a critical Individual Contributor (IC) role that operates with extreme autonomy in a "startup-within-a-startup" environment, focusing on solving the hardest technical problems in enterprise AI application development. Devs.AI is AppDirect's most strategic initiative, focused on building the next generation of AI-driven enterprise tools.

You are a Staff full-stack developer with deep experience in application-layer AI. You thrive on architectural challenges, operate effectively in a high-velocity release environment, and are passionate about shaping the future of AI tooling. You will collaborate daily with the most senior engineers in the company, driving technical strategy and execution.

What you’ll do and how you’ll make an impact

  • Design and Build Full-Stack AI Products: Ship end-to-end, AI-powered applications (frontend and backend) that will be used directly by our enterprise clients.
  • Architect and Implement Core AI Pipelines: Design, implement, and optimize complex RAG pipelines and robust LLM tool integrations to enable sophisticated agent capabilities.
  • Drive Strategic Product Features: Be a primary contributor to key Devs.AI products, including:
    • App Builder: Contribute to the development of our low-code agent builder platform.
    • Agent Studio & Agentless Chat Backend: Build scalable and performant backends for agent management and conversational AI.
    • MCP Integrations: Rapidly develop and deploy new integrations using the Model Context Protocol.
  • Own Workflow Orchestration: Implement complex features for workflow management, including scheduling, triggers, and sophisticated approval flows.
  • Set Architectural Direction: Operate with significant technical ownership, contributing to the core architectural decisions that will shape the Devs.AI platform and technology stack for years to come.

What we’re looking for

  • Experience & Level: 8+ years of professional software development experience.
  • Full-Stack Technical Depth:
    • Demonstrated ability to drive projects across the full stack.
    • Strong experience with Typescript, React, and Next.js.
    • Proficiency with backend data technologies like MySQL and Redis.
  • AI Application Expertise:
    • Strong, hands-on experience building production-grade AI-powered applications (application-layer AI).
    • Expertise designing and implementing RAG pipelines.
    • Experience with LLM tool integrations and orchestration tools like LangChain or LangGraph.
  • Architectural Leadership: Deep expertise in complex system design, architectural thinking, and API development.
  • Operational Excellence: Proven ability to operate effectively and autonomously in a fast-moving, high-shipping environment, working seamlessly with senior/principal-level peers.
