The Opportunity
As Appian accelerates its international expansion, modernizing our equity architecture and total rewards framework is critical. As Compensation Analyst III, you will act as a core global partner based out of our Chennai tech hub. You won't just analyze data; you will shape global pay equity initiatives, architect scalable equity management structures, and directly manage equity plan administration using E*TRADE/Morgan Stanley. This role offers a unique opportunity to build scalable compensation frameworks in a fast-paced environment backed by enterprise-grade stability.
What You’ll Do
- Modernize Equity Plan Architecture: Lead global equity plan governance and modernize grant structures, option/RSU execution lifecycles, and cap-table administration using E*TRADE/Morgan Stanley.
- Drive Executive Insights & Strategic Analytics: Oversee global HR and compensation intelligence models, translating complex market datasets into board-ready presentations and executive workforce planning strategies.
- Lead Global Market Intelligence & Structural Design: Design and scale global salary structures, geographic differentials, and market benchmarking bands across international regions to maintain hyper-competitive positioning.
- Manage End-to-End Compensation Cycles: Oversee data validation, budget allocations, and execution model design for global merit, bonus, and equity cycles.
- Champion Global Pay Equity & Governance: Lead comprehensive global pay equity audits and proactive remediation strategies, ensuring full alignment with international compliance and organizational diversity goals.
- Consult & Collaborate Across Enterprise Ecosystems: Serve as an internal consultant to HR business partners, talent acquisition, and business executives on complex offers and organizational design.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Finance, Economics, or a related quantitative field.
- 5+ years of progressive global compensation experience within high-growth technology or enterprise software environments.
- Hands-on expertise in global equity plan administration and equity lifecycle management using E*TRADE / Morgan Stanley.
- Advanced analytical and data-modeling skills in Excel (complex formulas, financial modeling) and experience optimizing HRIS systems (e.g., Workday).
- Demonstrated experience designing global salary structures, managing multi-currency compensation budgets, and leading pay equity audits.
Preferred Qualifications
- Certified Compensation Professional (CCP) or Certified Equity Professional (CEP) designation.
- Experience working directly with cross-functional teams in North America, EMEA, and APAC regions.
- We value experience with enterprise platforms such as Salesforce or ServiceNow, as these skills translate well into our Enterprise-Grade Orchestration environment.
