$92,000 - $98,000 DOE
JOB SUMMARY
As a Controls Engineer in Clear Lake, SD, you will be responsible for a diverse range of tasks across various systems and projects, including: designing electrical schematics, writing and troubleshooting PLC and HMI programs for Rockwell, Mitsubishi, and Direct Logic systems, and working with PC-based controls; managing projects from ordering parts and building panels to installing and wiring components, and optimizing robot paths; addressing issues such as laser faults, communication problems, and mechanical interferences, as well as making program adjustments for component changes and improving system efficiency; handling machine maintenance, including duplicating PC drives and resolving issues with machine operation and sensor logic, and working collaboratively with suppliers and other Applied partners.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor of Science degree in mechanical, electrical, or computer engineering from an ABET-accredited university required
- 3+ years of relevant/previous work required
- Experience with instrumentation and controls design as well as PLC/HMI programming
- Working knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems and their associated controls; sound understanding of control system architectures and computer systems
- Experience with project management tasks including covering initial concept/proposal, design, implementation, testing, start-up, and closeout
