Current is modernizing how utilities serve their communities. Our cloud-native customer management platform simplifies billing, payments, and engagement for water utilities and municipalities.
As one of our first sales hires, you’ll help define how we grow: building relationships with utility leaders, introducing them to our platform, and driving adoption of a product that makes life easier for both staff and customers. You’ll be focused on our core market segment - the 40,000+ water utilities with <10,000 service connections who are most in need of modern, effective software.
What You’ll Do
- Own the full sales cycle: prospect, qualify, demo, and close new utility customers
- Conduct outbound outreach (calls, emails, LinkedIn, conferences) to generate pipeline
- Lead thoughtful product demos and discovery conversations that connect customer pain points to our solution
- Collaborate closely with the CEO and product team to share feedback and refine our go-to-market approach
- Track activity and pipeline metrics with consistency and integrity

What You Bring
- 2–6 years of sales experience in SaaS, tech, or related B2B industries (startup or SMB experience a plus)
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Comfort with outbound calling and self-sourced pipeline generation
- Curiosity about civic tech, utilities, or infrastructure software
