
Founding Engineer (Full Stack)

We’re on a mission to revolutionize the global electronics supply chain.
During the pandemic, we saw how the inefficiencies in electronics manufacturing can have a massive global impact. From over $200B lost in car manufacturing to delays on laptops, gaming systems, and much more.
At Breadboard we are rethinking the electronics supply chain down to the finest detail. We’re designing the new operating system in which this entire system will run. We’ve already secured funding pre-launch of the business and are now looking for our first few core engineers to help us set the foundation for the future.

✅ You’ll be responsible for
- Contributing to and becoming an expert in Breadboard’s software and infrastructure.
- Implementing and rolling out new features into production (both big and small)
- Not only understanding our tech but also how the global electronics supply chain works (don’t worry, we’ll teach you)
- Taking ownership of larger initiatives, pushing back on the founders, and delivering value to our customers.
- Designing and implementing modular systems with the right balance of structure and flexibility.
- Introducing software development practices that will keep our engineers productive.
- Mentorship as the team grows to more junior engineers.
- Identifying new opportunities for responsibility and taking them on. We're at an early stage and you must be comfortable with ambiguity.
📈 Requirements
- 3+ years of experience in architecting, developing, testing, and launching web applications from end to end.
- Self-started and fast learner who is comfortable dealing with ambiguity and hard problems.
- Experience of working with React as well as such modern backend web frameworks as NestJS.
- Experience in working with relational databases, ideally Postgres.
- Familiarity with cloud-native software development (ideally AWS).
- Able to apply best software engineering practices (testing, lean development, SOLID principles, code reviews)

👬 Our Founders
Zachary is the co-founder and CEO of Breadboard. He spent the last four years as the first employee at H1 where he originally ran product until product-market fit and then moved on to lead commercial strategy and operations. During that time, H1 grew to $20mil in ARR, Raised over $150m in funding, and had 500 employees. Before H1, Zachary was the CTO and Co-Founder of ResearchConnection, an educational technology company that had over 40 universities as clients and sold to the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation. He earned his degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering and is excited to combine this academic understanding in the corporate space.
George is the co-founder and CTO of Breadboard. George has over 15 years as an engineer at some of the top high-growth companies. He spent time earlier in his career at Bloomberg building out high volume low latency trading systems and then moved over those skills in the self-driving car space. He worked for both Uber and Cruise on speeding up their machine learning algorithms and helped push the self-driving car technology forward. Most recently George has been leading out the public API development for Carta where he was a Staff Engineer for two years. He is excited to take his integration and machine learning skills to an industry that desperately needs his help.
