Role: Senior Engineer (Generalist)

Tavoro is a young start-up that is modernizing the e-commerce supply chain. Starting less than two years ago, we have achieved product-market fit with our MVP and initial clients.

Interested to join as a senior engineer? We’re building out a team of exceptional individuals who:

• Have strong fundamentals in computer science coupled with practical experience (BA/BS computer science, 4+ years experience preferred)
• Are self-driven with a growth mindset
• Solve problems from first principles
• Have a strong desire and ability for nimble and iterative development
• Strongly value integrity

…and who want to contribute to an application featuring:

• Elixir backend (Phoenix/Ecto)
• React/TS frontend
• Hermetic and reproducible builds (Nix) with declarative cloud deployment (Pulumi)

(we realize some or many of the tools listed above may be unfamiliar – we’re looking for someone that’d be excited to ramp up!)

 

What you’ll be doing

Own large portions of Tavoro’s engineering. You’ll work with the eng team to design & build out:

• architecting & implementing the all levels of the software stack
• productionizing the application with CI/CD workflows, monitoring, and alerting
• Iteratively launching new product while maintaining the current system
• contributing to tooling & research supporting technology for our stack

Within 1 week you will…

• stand-up a local and sandbox environment of the current end-to-end skeleton application
• familiarize yourself with the code-base
• have made your first commit 

Within 2 weeks you will…

• tackle a minor feature
• further familiarize yourself with unfamiliar tools

Within 3 weeks you will…

• start out with larger features
• collaborate directly with the CTO (and the team as it grows) to set direction and execute on critical MVP features
