We are looking for an entrepreneurial spirit to lead our monetization strategy team as a Head of Monetization. You will have a ground-floor opportunity to shape monetization efforts for the most exciting new mobile games in the market and lead our business unit Appodeal to achieve its ambitious yearly goals. In this role, you will partner with cross-functional leaders to assess performance and plan for the future. As a part of the management team, you will stay focused on aligning the highest-level company priorities with effective day-to-day operations, and help evolve early-stage ideas into future-growth initiatives.

We are seeking a dual-role professional with both operational and business development responsibilities, who will also manage a team. On the operational side, the ideal candidate will be data and process-driven, dedicating their days to effectively monitoring and enhancing project metrics through clear and practical methods. The business development aspect involves negotiating and managing contracts with monetization platforms, networks, and direct advertisers. Additionally, this role requires strong leadership skills, as the candidate will be responsible for managing and guiding a team. The ideal applicant should excel in analytical tasks, strategic relationship management, and team leadership to drive success and growth.


Responsibilities: 

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive monetization strategy to maximize revenue across all games.
  • Analyze advertising yield performance, identifying and implementing improvements to maximize revenue.
  • Manage a high-performing monetization team, ensuring operational efficiency and continuous improvement.
  • Set and manage performance goals for the monetization team to achieve optimal results, aimed to be the best in our genre.  
  • Own performance analysis, reporting, and drive business review cadences.
  • Partner closely with leadership to drive high-impact monetization initiatives.
  • Collaborate closely with internal cross-functional teams to optimize monetization-related product features and implementations.
  • Lead business development efforts, including negotiating and managing partnerships with ad networks, monetization platforms, and direct advertisers.
  • Stay ahead of industry trends and competitor strategies to continuously refine and enhance our monetization efforts.
  • Prepare internal and external communication updates for stakeholders regarding monetization progress and key business development milestones.

Requirements:

  • 3+ years of experience in ad operations, consulting, sales strategy, product strategy, or a related analytical field.
  • Proven experience in building and scaling successful monetization strategies.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills, with experience growing and optimizing teams.
  • Deep understanding of ad monetization in mobile gaming, with a track record of driving revenue growth.
  • Exceptional data analytics skills and proficiency in Excel.
  • High-growth tech start-up experience and advertising experience.
  • Skilled project manager with a strategic mindset.
  • Strong business development skills, including experience negotiating and managing partnerships.
  • Self-motivated, adaptable, and comfortable in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in Business English.

Nice to haves:

  • Technical degree is preferred, but not a must;
  • Familiarity with SQL and data visualization tools such as Tableau preferred.
