Appodeal is looking for a Head of AdTech to lead the evolution of our monetization technology stack. This role combines hands-on technical leadership with strategic ownership of our AdTech solutions for the mobile gaming unit. You will work closely with Monetization, Product, Data Science, and Engineering teams to drive measurable improvements in ARPDAU, retention, and overall monetization efficiency.

The primary mission: leverage technology to grow game revenues and margins, while building an AdTech function that scales with our business.

Key Responsibilities

AdTech Solutions & Innovation

    1. Build and scale internal mediation/bidding solutions and/or partner with existing solutions. 
    2. Route a measurable % of traffic through in-house systems.
    3. Ensure auction transparency and robust monitoring.

Monetization Performance

    1. Increase LTV through ad tech solutions product improvements.
    2. Improve retention rate by optimizing ad delivery.

Market & Risk Management

    1. Decrease dependency on single ad networks without harming LTV or retention.
    2. Expand direct integrations with Tier-1 networks and test new demand sources.

Insights & Collaboration

    1. Deliver actionable insights to game teams that lead to uplift in eCPMs.
    2. Partner with Monetization to align technical work with commercial goals.
    3. Collaborate with UA and Product for a full monetization ↔ acquisition feedback loop.

Compliance & Standards

    1. Ensure 100% compliance with GDPR, COPPA, and ATT opt-in requirements.
    2. Build a culture of engineering excellence and reliability in the AdTech stack.

Requirements

  • Must-have experience
    • 7+ years in mobile AdTech, with hands-on engineering background (software development, system architecture).
    • Proven track record in building or significantly customizing ad mediation platforms, exchanges, or DSP/SSP solutions.
    • Deep knowledge of programmatic advertising, RTB protocols (OpenRTB), waterfall and bidding optimization.
    • Experience with first-party data utilization, audience segmentation, and privacy-compliant targeting.

  • Technical skills
    • Experience with SDK development and integration for mobile apps (iOS, Android).
    • Understanding of ML application in AdTech (bidding models, LTV prediction).
    • Solid grasp of data pipelines, real-time analytics, and distributed systems.
    • (nice-to-have) Strong coding skills in at least one backend language (Java, Go, C#, Python, etc.).
