With offices across Europe, the USA, and a global remote-first approach, we are scaling rapidly and need strong HR expertise to ensure compliance and excellence in our people operations.
We are seeking an experienced HR & Benefits Manager to support our People Operations team with U.S.-specific compliance, legal, and HR processes. This individual will play a key role in ensuring our HR practices align with federal, state, and local regulations while fostering a seamless employee experience across the employee lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
- Compliance & Legal:
- Ensure HR policies, procedures, and practices comply with U.S. labor laws and regulations.
- Onboarding & Offboarding:
- Manage end-to-end onboarding processes for U.S.-based employees, including documentation, background checks, and benefits enrollment.
- Oversee offboarding procedures to ensure compliance, proper documentation, and smooth transitions.
- Insurance & Benefits:
- Evaluate, implement, and manage U.S. employee benefits programs (health, dental, vision, 401k, disability, life insurance, etc.) in different states in the USA and other locations (Europe).
- Ensure compliance with ACA, COBRA, and other benefits-related regulations.
- Compensation & Payroll Support:
- Partner with Finance and external providers to ensure accurate payroll processing and tax compliance.
- Employee Relations & Support:
- Serve as a trusted advisor for U.S.-based employees on HR policies, benefits, and employment-related queries.
- Provide guidance on sensitive employee relations matters while mitigating risk and ensuring compliance.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field (HR certification a plus).
- 5+ years of HR experience with a strong focus on U.S. compliance, benefits, and employee lifecycle management.
- In-depth knowledge of U.S. employment laws, HR best practices, and regulatory requirements.
- Experience working in a fast-paced, international, or tech/startup environment preferred.
- Strong communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and collaborate across time zones.
