Your Role as a Back-End Developer:
As a Senior Software Engineer (Backend), you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining scalable backend services that support key product capabilities across our platform.
In this role, you will work closely with product, QA, and other engineering teams to deliver reliable, maintainable, and high-quality solutions. You will also contribute to technical discussions, help improve existing systems, and support the team in making sound engineering decisions.
A Day in the Life of a Senior Software Engineer :
- Design, build, and maintain backend services using C# and .NET.
- Develop and support REST APIs and service-to-service integrations.
- Work with microservices and asynchronous communication patterns in a distributed environment.
- Contribute to solutions involving MongoDB data modeling, query design, and performance considerations.
- Collaborate with other teams and services across the platform to deliver end-to-end functionality.
- Write clean, testable, and maintainable code, including unit and integration tests.
- Participate in technical design discussions, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Help identify technical debt and propose practical improvements over time.
- Communicate progress, technical decisions, and trade-offs clearly with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
What you’ll need:
- Strong commercial experience in backend development with C# and .NET .
- Experience building and maintaining RESTful APIs and backend services.
- Solid understanding of microservices and distributed systems.
- Experience working with NoSQL databases, ideally MongoDB, including data modeling and query design.
- Good understanding of asynchronous communication patterns and messaging systems such as RabbitMQ or similar tools.
- Hands-on experience writing unit and integration tests.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to reason through technical trade-offs.
- Good understanding of software design principles, maintainability, and clean code practices.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, especially when working across teams and cultures.
- A positive, proactive attitude and a strong sense of ownership.
What we’ll also value:
- Experience with Docker and containerized applications.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and engineering workflows such as Azure DevOps or similar tools.
- Familiarity with cloud-based environments, ideally GCP.
- Exposure to architectural patterns such as CQRS, DDD, or similar approaches.
- Experience with relational databases such as MySQL.
- Familiarity with AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot, ChatGPT, Cursor, or similar.
- Experience working in distributed teams or multi-service environments.
